"Why didn't you have lessons in becoming a king from a young age? I heard that crown princes have special lessons to prepare them for their future royal duties." Leaning his back against Lucian's chest, Soren asked. He had woken up before dawn to find Lucian sitting in a chair in front of the fireplace, absorbed in a book.
Wrapped in a thick silk blanket, Soren climbed out of bed and approached Lucian. A beaming smile spread across his face as their eyes met. Lucian opened his arms wide, gesturing for Soren to sit on his lap. There they were now, staring at the fireplace and feeling the warmth of each other's bodies.
"You have seen my past through the bonds." Lucian said in response.
"Exactly, that's why I asked. Why did you choose to go to church and spend your time there?"
Lucian didn't answer immediately. Instead, he gently ruffled Soren's hair. Meanwhile, his other hand played with Soren's fingers, which were now completely smoother than before. His hand had become soft.
