Chapter 115 - Chap.113 - Projections

Rigel looked at the rewards he had received, three in total. The first was obvious: for situations where he would need clear identities, very useful in more modern worlds. However, Rigel's thoughts soon turned to Calypso. Should he use this on her?

Clemens and Anna would still need identities, but nothing a memory spell and a few tweaks here and there couldn't fix. Rigel couldn't use it yet, but Calypso was talented enough to learn how to use it in no time.

Rigel was of no use to either of them for the time being, and Kreacher was already perfectly suited to the role of butler, sending Clemens to a modern medical college was far more useful than keeping him with the house-elf grumbling about Muggles at home.

Speaking of which, he would need to make an unbreakable vow with Kreacher sooner or later, he had too many secrets, and he will have more in the future, Kreacher was too useful to let him go, so he would need something stronger than the bond between the house-elf and the wizards, after all, Keacher served the Blacks, not just Rigel.

Most wizards would find it extremely beneath them to use the unbreakable vow on a house-elf, especially since those who possessed them were all wizards of ancient lineages or those rich wizards who try to make it seem like their great-grandparents weren't Muggles. These powerful beings were sometimes even seen as inferior to Muggles, which exemplified the disdain wizards had for house-elves. Rigel would not underestimate them because of that.

Besides, he believed that house-elves had been cursed by wizards in ancient times. If he broke the curse, Kreacher would become more powerful, also able to kill wizards, which would greatly increase his usefulness.

Sure, it will probably take more than just breaking the curse, after enough time of... whatever was happening to them, their bodies and souls are probably already quite atrophied.

It takes much more than just breaking the curse, but also healing the damage it caused. Luckily, both potions, Curse Breaker and God's Blood, are perfect for this.

Having gone through this, Rigel read the second reward, his eyes blinking as he read the contents, especially the warning in the Adventure Book. He frowned slightly, if this world had the Order's power practically sealed, what would happen to Calypso?

"Hey, Book, what's going to happen if I let Calypso out of the gold bookmark?" Rigel asked, frowning.

[Two possibilities: either she fights and is expelled from this world, forced to wander the void, or she seals her power, maintaining her human form. In that case, she can stay, but she will not be able to use Divine power in this world, if she tries, as before, she will be expelled.]

Rigel was somewhat relieved, at least she wouldn't be directly expelled, but his thoughts returned to his own divine power.

"And what about the crown?" Rigel asked. He already knew she wouldn't be expelled, because it was still in his bag. Thinking of this, he took it out of the bag and looked at the sapphires, clearly faded, before returning his gaze to the book.

[Its power still works, this world contains divine items, although the divine power is still sealed, so its use will be incredibly limited. You can still use the normal effects of the Sapphires, but you won't be able to enter Demigod form.]

Rigel pursed his lips, but didn't complain much. For a moment, he considered using the World Source, but the warning about adverse effects made him apprehensive. He didn't know this world well enough to use something like that directly, not yet.

For now, whether it's Calypso or the power of the crown, he could only put it aside.

"Book, what do you mean by space-time disturbances and energy disorder?" Rigel asked curiously.

[Opening of dimensional portals, temporal regression or advancement, Time loops, alteration of reality, alteration of natural laws...]

Rigel's lips trembled, yes, he wouldn't get involved with that yet.

Putting that aside, he focused on the last reward, reading quickly, his eyes widening slightly.

To be honest, he expected something greater, something that would make him despise the world. Effects 1 and 2 were good, worthy of at least being Platinum effects, but hardly something that could be completely Rainbow, except perhaps for the protection of the items themselves. Rigel had never seen a Rainbow Reward, but he had high expectations for them after seeing the power he received from the crown.

Either way, with the first effect, his treasures would be safe. They wouldn't be stolen, corrupted, or glimpsed by any entity. That effect alone made his treasures completely safe. This in itself already achieves an extreme effect of protection and concealment, although unfortunately not for all his treasures, only Bronze level treasures and above.

He narrowed his eyes and asked.

"Does it need classification? In that case, can only the items you've granted be stored?" Rigel asked, thinking, for example, of his compass.

[No, writer, any item that possesses Order or Chaos is considered at least Bronze, meaning enchanted items can be stored.]

This greatly relieved Rigel, leaving him relieved. He thought that even his treasure, as long as it remained in its bottle form, could still be kept in the King's Treasury, right?

Satisfied, he shifted his gaze to the final effect, this effect alone was worth a rainbow ability!

As long as a legend was true, it could be 'projected', Rigel thought for a moment, he had many legends about him.

Feeling this newfound power within him, he let it flow outward, the legend he was projecting was precisely the legend of the Pirate King, and he felt he could project it in its entirety or just a small fragment of it.

However, he lacked the magic to fully realize this legend.

Even so, dozens of figures appeared before him, they seemed semi-corporeal, he felt he could increase the level and project them perfectly, but that would require much more magic.

Those who appeared were his subordinates, the pirate lords Will, Elizabeth, and Anamaria.

One of them stood in front of him, expressionless, but he felt he could command them into battle at any moment.

He could design not only people, but even ships.

Taking a deep breath, he felt a slight pressure on his magic, these figures were merely mortals, and besides, he had only projected them in spectral form, so it didn't cost much magic to project them. He would need to project much more to truly feel pressured.

Conversely, in this form, they were practically 'shadow clones', disappearing with a single hit.

The magic stopped flowing as the projections faded.

The next moment, he projected his treasure, a perfect gold coin appeared in his hand. There was no difference between it and a real coin, no matter how closely he looked. Even when he bent the gold coin or broke it in two, it still looked completely like a normal coin, but the moment he stopped letting the magic flow, the coin quickly vanished.

He tried again, this time the legend he used was one that made his lips tremble, 'Calypso's Lover' the figure of Calypso began to form, but he felt immense pressure, not only from his magic, but the world itself seemed to tighten around him, he quickly let the poorly formed figure dissolve.

Rigel felt he could project other things, such as 'King of the Mermaids', 'King of Atlantis', 'Possessor of the Fountain of Youth'..., but he didn't project any more, especially the Fountain of Youth. As soon as he tried, his magic depleted extremely quickly without him being able to summon even the slightest projection beyond mist. He felt that if he wanted to summon that projection, he would need to summon the entire dimension of the Fountain of Youth.

This power was extremely useful, Rigel wouldn't even need a wand to use it, but in the end, Rigel was still too weak to take advantage of it.

In the end, it all came down to his weakness.

With a final sigh of resignation, Rigel turned to the book and asked. "And what about the Golden Bookmarks?"
