"Asahi!, I'll see you in two weeks okay?!"
Those had been the last words Asahi heard from his best friend before she went missing.
Mina Jackson was her name.
According to the police, she went to ease herself in the bathroom and never came back. Since there were no cameras in the bathroom,no one saw what happened.
It was described as a mysterious disappearance. The police did what they could but after 2 years the case went cold.
It's been eight years since then,most people have forgotten and moved on,but people like Asahi and Mina's parents never moved on.
Everytime Asahi passed by their house he remembered her. The brave girl who couldn't stand bullies and wouldn't hesitate to roast one to tears.
The girl who was afraid to hurt even ants and would cry everytime even a bug died,and would organize a funeral for it.
Today as Asahi passed by her place,he remembered her again. The sky was cloudy, lightening flashing across the sky as the sound of thunder followed later,just as it was 8 years ago.
He stood at the same place where she stood and said those words.
"I miss you Mina, there's so many things I wanna tell you"
Asahi whispered,his gaze fixed on the empty house.
"Highschools over,and I'm just a step away from becoming an exorcist,hope you're proud of me"
After saying those words,Asahi forced himself to look away and continue his walk home. There were three other houses before his own,yet the walk felt longer than usual.
Just as Asahi stood outside of the front door,his phone rang. Sighing he reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone.
"Hello?"
"Asahi!"
His mom's breathless voice came through from the other side.
"We found Mina, She's at the airport"
