Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Believe It or Not, I'll Throw Your music box Away!?

Hiding under the Table, Six watched the Little person wearing a square paper bag over its head before her, her eyes filled with wariness.

Even though Mono's build was the same as hers and he looked "frail," this still didn't make her relax.

She had been captured by the Hunter and imprisoned here for a long time.

During this long wait, she had grown accustomed to a silence as if everything had settled into stillness.

Only the music from the music box could keep her company.

Yes, the music box.

Six suddenly snapped out of it, her heart racing as her gaze darted to the corner outside the Table.

Her music box had fallen out there.

Wait, what is he doing?

She widened her eyes, watching Mono's figure steadily approach her music box.

"No! That's mine!" Six couldn't help but want to run out.

But in the end, she forced herself to stop.

She was still cautious and alert, her heart filled with apprehension and unease.

Mono slowly walked over and picked up the music box that had fallen on the ground.

The music box was still spinning, and the sound of music like wind chimes came from within.

If one listened carefully, it actually sounded quite nice.

However, Mono was in no mood to appreciate the music.

Holding the music box, he walked to the Table.

Because Little Six was curled up under the Table, he couldn't see her face clearly.

Nevertheless, a smile appeared on Mono's face as he reached out the hand holding the music box toward her.

"This seems to be yours. Do you want it?"

Six had been calculating how to snatch the music box back, but when she heard Mono's words, her movements couldn't help but pause.

She lifted her head and looked at the figure outside the Table.

He wore a tattered grey-black trench coat with a square Paper Bag over his head; only a pair of bright eyes could be seen peering through two holes in the mask.

She couldn't see the person in front of her clearly, nor did she know his identity or purpose.

Yet, he actually intended to return the music box to her.

Moreover, he had no intention of attacking her.

It seemed this person harbored no ill will toward her.

For a moment, Six hesitated.

Even though Mono currently seemed to have no ill intent, she still didn't trust him.

In such a sinister world, her nerves had long since become sensitive and tense due to her surroundings.

An ordinary person might have gone completely insane after experiencing all sorts of bloody events.

The fact that she still maintained her rationality meant she was already someone of firm will.

Seeing Little Six's hesitant appearance, Mono didn't find it particularly strange.

This world was indeed dangerous.

It was only normal for Little Six not to easily trust anyone.

In this world, one truly should remain wary of everyone.

Though someone might be a friend one second, they could be a murderer the next.

He should also remain wary; after all, the Little Girl in front of him was the murderer who caused his original body, Mono, to fall into the abyss.

However, although Mono knew what might happen later, he didn't plan to break ties with Little Six directly.

He was currently somewhat weak; if he wanted to survive in this world, he would need someone to help him.

And if the plot hadn't gone wrong, he remembered there was a Rifle in the house at the easternmost end of the forest.

With that Rifle, he could kill the Hunter who patrolled and roamed this forest.

However, that Rifle was designed for adults.

It would be difficult for him to lift it alone.

Therefore, he had to get Little Six to help him with this.

Seeing Little Six still hiding warily behind the Table leg, Mono glanced outside the house, not wanting to waste any more time.

The Hunter was nearby; who knew when he might appear?

"Hey, if you don't want it, I'll throw it away."

As Mono spoke, he made a motion as if to toss it.

"Don't~"

Finally, a tense cry came from under the dark Table.

Mono stopped his movement.

"Then is this yours?"

"It's mine..." Six slowly walked out.

Mono finally saw her appearance clearly this time.

Short black hair fell in messy strands beside her thin, pale cheeks; beneath her faint brows was a pair of alert eyes.

She wore a long, tattered grey shirt that covered half her body, revealing only a pair of slender, white legs.

Her expression was full of indifference.

If one didn't look at her face or listen to her voice, she almost seemed like a little boy based on her actions and performance alone.

Mono thought he saw a flash of red light pass through the depths of her eyes.

Although Little Six's expression was somewhat cold, that indifferent look made her seem harmless.

*Ding!*
