Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Gale Magic Wolves at the Door

Crystal-blue vertical pupils slowly opened. Jona Velli's eyes flashed with excitement, confusion, and then bewilderment.

"So... can someone tell me, I'm a silver-white mixed-blood, but why am I not in a Dragons Lair?! Hey!

Don't they say Metal Dragons take good care of their dragon eggs and hatchlings?

Even so, Five-Color Dragons have to take care of their hatchlings until they can support themselves. What's the deal with me being out here struggling during the Hatchling Dragon stage?"

"But it's alright. Looking at the talents and abilities I've awakened, I should be following a dual path of physical and magical cultivation. Jie-hehehe~

A noble mage, a tyrannical warrior, ehehehe~"

Jona Velli split her dragon mouth, revealing a silly grin with her huge pink tongue sticking out. But soon, her round White Dragon head shook quickly.

"No, no, how could I show such a foolish expression?"

Her crystal-blue dragon eyes scanned the pure White Dragon scales that shimmered with a faint metallic luster, and she found her answer.

"It seems to be a subconscious action of this body. I didn't expect that even the powerful genes of a Silver Dragon would have difficulty changing the silly nature etched into a White Dragon's bones.

Moreover, my current Silver Dragon traits aren't obvious; they've been overshadowed by the White Dragon. Hmm... maybe I just haven't fully developed yet. It'll be fine once I grow up."

As she thought, Jona Velli already had a way to escape her current predicament: waiting.

That's right, waiting for the predators to take the bait. She didn't know how long she had been lying here, but one thing was certain: the smell of blood on her body had surely been carried away by the wind.

The scent of blood on a dragon would definitely attract many predators, allowing her to play the role of the hunter waiting for the prey.

Jona Velli slowly closed her eyes, her breathing stabilized, and she feigned unconsciousness.

She projected her perception, covering a fifty-meter radius. Within this range, any slight rustle would enter her mind through her senses.

Just like that, an hour later, a hunter finally stepped into Jona Velli's perception.

The corners of her dragon mouth quirked up slightly, but the expression vanished instantly, as if it were an illusion.

Three blue-and-white Gale Magic Wolves cautiously advanced toward Jona Velli.

They lowered their bodies, moving with extreme care, making as little noise as possible.

If Jona Velli hadn't spread her perception beforehand, she certainly would have found them difficult to detect.

In just a few seconds, the three Gale Magic Wolves were barely twenty meters away from Jona Velli.

They hid in the bushes and discovered a pure white giant beast lying at the source of the bloody scent.

Out of the instinct of low-level magical beasts, they felt the urge to flee the moment they saw Jona Velli.

But seeing her injured state and the smell of blood constantly stimulating their urge to feed, the three Gale Magic Wolves forcibly suppressed their instincts.

After observing for a few more minutes and seeing that Jona Velli still hadn't moved, the lead Gale Wolf could no longer restrain itself and let out a howl.

A pale green wind blade shot toward Jona Velli, leaving only a shallow wound on her body.

Jona Velli forced herself to suppress the urge to leap up. The pain from her body made her vow to make these three magic wolves pay a bloody price.

Seeing that the white creature still didn't react after being attacked, the three magic wolves could no longer hold back and charged at Jona Velli.

When they were less than five meters away, the lead Gale Magic Wolf leaped high into the air, biting toward Jona Velli.

Suddenly, deep fear appeared in the wolf's eyes as a pair of cold crystal-blue dragon eyes swept over it. Immediately after, the sound of breaking air reached its ears, and a chubby White Dragon claw swiped toward it.

With a muffled thud, Jona Velli directly crushed the lead wolf's head, sending brain matter splashing everywhere like watermelon juice.

The corpse of the Gale Magic Wolf was slammed to the ground, deader than dead.

From Jona Velli's strike to the lead wolf's death, barely a second had passed. Seeing things go south, the other two Gale Magic Wolves tried to flee, but it was too late; they were already within Jona Velli's attack range.

The white dragon mouth opened wide, and bone-chilling Frost Breath had already condensed within.

A blue-white fan-shaped breath blasted out. After struggling for two seconds in the breath, the two Gale Magic Wolves let out a miserable howl and lost their lives.

Seeing this, Jona Velli ended her attack. Feeling the cramping hunger in her body, she didn't care if it was raw meat or whether her heart could accept it; her crystal-blue dragon eyes narrowed into thin slits entirely by instinct.

The White Dragon head immediately began to tear and bite into the crushed wolf corpse before her, swallowing it whole.

During the process, she even bit into something hard, but her intense desire to eat made her swallow it directly into her stomach, leaving her no time to think whether it was a bone or something else.

Just like that, a Gale Magic Wolf measuring 1.6 meters in length was completely devoured by Jona Velli.

Only the fur and some internal organs remaining on the ground proved that a living creature had been here just moments ago.

Her dragon tongue licked the warm blood off her dragon mouth. The wolf blood on her pure White Dragon head made her look even more savage and terrifying.

"I was originally quite resistant to eating raw meat, but I didn't expect it to taste so great."

Jona Velli looked at the two Gale Magic Wolves frozen into ice sculptures and couldn't help but sigh.

"As expected, the intelligence of wolves isn't low."

Now she was only forty percent full and needed more food.

Fortunately, with the supplement of energy, the wounds on her body had begun to recover at a speed visible to the naked eye.

This was the power of the Dragon Species; even a hatchling possessed recovery abilities that other low-level races could only dream of.

After waiting until she had mostly recovered, it was time to deal with the huge pile of rubble that had her trapped.

Jona Velli looked at the rocks behind her and, without hesitation, swiped a claw at a five-meter-tall boulder.

The dragon claw struck the boulder, leaving deep claw marks, and cracks appeared on the surface of the giant rock.

Jona Velli narrowed her dragon eyes. She hadn't expected her tentative swipe to reach such a level, which made her unable to resist grinning.

With the sound of breaking air, her dragon claw struck the boulder again. The immense power made it unable to bear the burden any longer, and it shattered with a boom.

Shattered stones fell onto Jona Velli's dragon body, but she didn't care at all.

Regaining her freedom, she stood up, shook off the dust and debris, and let out a roar toward the sky.

"Awoo!~"

A cute and tender dragon roar came from her mouth, echoing beside the empty cliff.

Her crystal-blue dragon eyes froze, and she quickly covered her dragon mouth, blinking.

Why did this sound so cute? Where was the majesty? Where was the dominance? Where was the soul-stirring power?

"Forget it, forget it. Maybe I just haven't fully developed yet. It'll be fine once I grow up, yeah."

Jona Velli looked at the two ice sculptures, showing her silly side again.

"Ehehe~ delicious food, here I come!"

Jona Velli moved her chubby claws and walked toward the two frozen Gale Magic Wolves.

As she reached them, Jona Velli faced a dilemma.

"How am I supposed to eat this if it's frozen?"

Jona Velli looked left and right, and her not-so-bright brain suddenly came up with a solution.

"Hehe, why not just eat it like this?"
