Chapter 21 - CHAPTER 18

FREYA POV

My hands trembled slightly as I unfolded the letter.

The room was silent.

Too silent.

I took a deep breath before starting.

"Hi girls,

First of all…

I'm sorry.

I'm sorry for leaving all of you without properly saying goodbye."

My throat tightened instantly.

"And before any of you start crying too much, let me make something very clear—

None of you are allowed to become ugly because of crying.

Especially you, Freya.

Your eyeliner is expensive, so please control yourself."

A laugh escaped my lips before I could stop it.

Even now…

Even after leaving…

Jay was still Jay.

Honestly, I already know how all of you are reacting right now.

Ella is probably crying while pretending to be the mature one.

Rakki is definitely hugging someone.

Mica is trying to calm everyone down while secretly crying harder than everyone else.

And Freya is acting "unbothered" while internally having a whole emotional breakdown.

I know you girls too well."

All of us lowered our heads.

Because she was right.

Ella wiped her tears quickly as I continued reading.

"Ella…

Please stay with my brother and make sure he stays happy. Don't let him stay grumpy all the time because honestly, he acts tough but gets emotional way too easily.

He's basically a tired old man trapped inside a younger body."

Ella looked toward Aries and whispered softly,

"Always."

"And your hair really does look better now.

See?

I finally admitted it.

Be grateful."

Ella laughed weakly through her tears.

"Idiot…"

"Also, I'm sorry I left before I could tease you about it one last time."

I saw Ella's shoulders shake.

Then my eyes landed on the next part.

"Freya…"

I froze.

My grip on the paper tightened.

"It's honestly funny how we started as enemies and somehow still became friends in the end.

I really wish I had more time with you."

"Me too, Jay…" I whispered painfully.

"And Freya… when you love someone, stop pushing people away before they even get the chance to stay.

Not everyone wants to hurt you.

And yes.

You know exactly who I'm talking about."

My eyes slowly lifted toward Edrix.

He was already staring at me.

The entire room went silent.

Everyone understood.

"Also, please continue being sarcastic and savage because watching you destroy people with words was one of my favorite hobbies."

I laughed through my tears.

"Ella's right… you're definitely an idiot."

"Never lose that attitude."

"Never, Jay."

My vision blurred too much to continue reading.

Rakki gently took the letter from my hands.

"Rakki…

You were like the sister life forgot to give me."

Rakki's lips trembled instantly.

"Same, Jay…" she whispered.

"You stayed beside me during some of the hardest moments of my life without asking for anything in return, and I'll never forget that.

And please don't leave Ci-N.

That guy loves you more than he can even explain.

Honestly, it's embarrassing sometimes."

Ci-N was already crying openly.

Rakki snorted softly.

"I know."

"And if he starts crying while hearing this letter, please laugh at him for me."

"I will, Jay. I will."

The room turned toward Ci-N who was wiping his tears desperately.

Rakki shrugged dramatically.

"I'm literally following Jay's instructions."

A few broken laughs filled the room.

For a moment…

It almost felt normal again.

Then Mica slowly took the letter.

Her voice was small when she spoke.

"Mica…

Stay kind, okay?

The world already has enough cruel people in it, so don't let it change your heart."

Mica covered her mouth as tears rolled down her cheeks.

"I'll never change myself, Jay. Never."

"You always tried protecting everyone even when nobody noticed you were hurting too."

"She noticed…" Mica whispered shakily.

"And please keep Calix in line because without you, that idiot will probably destroy something within five business days."

Calix scoffed dramatically while Mica laughed softly through tears.

"I'll keep him in line."

Mica looked toward Section E.

"How are you so kind, Jay? Once I find you, I'm making you teach me how to stay kind to people who already hurt me."

Section E lowered their heads in guilt.

Then Grace carefully took the letter.

"Grace…

You know there's a sonorolax in my room.

Take it for your daughter."

Grace instinctively looked upstairs toward Jay's room.

"And please tell her she had a godmother who loved her very much but had to leave before she was born.

Tell her I would've spoiled her too much if I stayed."

Grace cried quietly.

"I'll tell her, Jay."

"I'm sorry I won't get to meet her yet."

Grace broke down completely after that line.

Then the letter continued.

"Ate Honey…"

Everyone turned toward Honey.

She had been standing silently near the back the entire time.

Listening.

Crying quietly.

Like she never expected Jay to mention her.

Honey slowly took the letter from Grace's shaking hands.

"You were there when my stepfather used to bully me.

You were there when I was hurt.

When I was broken.

When I felt completely alone.

You stayed during the moments I thought nobody cared about me anymore.

Thank you for loving me when I felt difficult to love."

Honey cried harder.

"No need to thank me, Jay…

Just come back…"

"And I need you to promise me something.

Please find someone who will love you the way Uncle Rider and I loved you.

Because Ate…

You deserve soft love after everything life did to you."

Honey covered her face as she sobbed.

"And lastly…"

Her voice broke completely.

I gently took the letter from her hands and continued.

"To all my girls—

Please stay together.

Go annoy each other.

Fight over food.

Take embarrassing pictures.

Fall in love.

Heal properly.

Laugh loudly.

Fight loudly.

Love loudly.

And sometimes…

When all of you are together causing chaos again—

Think about me a little.

Not as the girl who left.

But as the girl who loved all of you more than she knew how to explain."

By then everyone was crying openly.

"Now stop crying too much.

You're all queens.

So stay royal.

Rule like queens.

And rule the hearts of your men the way queens always do.

I love you girls.

Bye.

— Jay."

Silence filled the room.

Then together, almost like a promise—

"Always, Jay."

Grace suddenly wiped her tears.

"I've decided something."

Ella blinked.

"What?"

Grace smiled sadly while rubbing her stomach.

"I know what I'm naming my daughter."

Everyone looked at her curiously.

"What?"

Grace looked toward Jay's empty room.

"Grazel Jay."

At that exact moment, the baby kicked.

Grace let out a shaky laugh before walking upstairs toward Jay's room.

A few moments later, she returned holding a sonorolax.

"Angelo… I found this underneath it."

Angelo took it carefully.

His expression slowly changed.

"There's a recorder inside."

The room froze.

Jeena's face immediately went pale.

Freya : "What's inside it?"

Angelo stared at the device for a few seconds before pressing play.

The room filled with static.

Then—

Jeena's voice echoed through the silence.

"You know," she said coldly, "you're a burden."

Everyone froze.

"Do you even know? Because of you, he has to take medicine."

Jay's voice trembled slightly.

"Why do you care now? Where were you when you gave him to Tita Geema?"

"I care because he's my son," Jeena snapped.

"And you? You're a worthless piece of trash. Nobody cares about you."

My chest tightened painfully.

"That's not true," Jay whispered shakily. "Everyone cares about me."

Jeena laughed cruelly.

"No. Nobody does."

The room went deadly silent.

"And I think it's good that Section E and Keifer used you.

Think about it—

Who would ever love a girl like you?"

I saw Aries clench his fists so tightly his knuckles turned white.

"A tomboy…

with no direction in life."

Then came the line that shattered everyone.

"So here's some advice.

Leave everyone.

Especially Aries.

You'll only hurt them more if you stay."

The recording stopped.

Silence.

Heavy.

Painful silence.

Then suddenly—

Gemma stood up furiously.

"You told her WHAT?!"

Jeena stepped back in fear.

Gemma's eyes filled with tears.

"And I was wondering why she never mentioned you in the letter…

If Mama was here right now, she would be heartbroken."

Angelo looked absolutely furious.

"Leave this house."

Jeena stared at him in shock.

"Angelo—"

"NOW."

Aries finally spoke.

His voice was cold.

"Don't come back until you find her."

Jeena looked around desperately for support.

Nobody moved.

Nobody defended her.

Not after hearing that recording.

"Aries… I did it for you—"

"Did I ask you to?" he snapped harshly.

"No.

So get out."

Jeena flinched before slowly leaving the house.

The second the door closed, the room felt empty again.

Broken.

Angelo immediately grabbed his phone.

"Call security.

I want every CCTV footage checked again."

Aries looked toward Jay's empty room silently.

And for the first time since she disappeared—

The search for Jay truly began.
