It was Monday.
I left for school like any other day.
When I entered Section E, everyone ignored me. But honestly… they weren't at fault. After everything that happened, I didn't even know if I deserved to sit beside them anymore.
I quietly sat in my seat.
Time passed slowly.
First lecture came.
But Jay never arrived.
A strange feeling settled inside my chest.
Sir Alvin entered the room carrying his usual papers, but something about his expression felt off.
I wanted to ask him what Jay had given him that day… but I decided to wait until later.
Sir Alvin: "Section E, you'll all have late dispersal today. I have something important to give you later."
The whole class groaned.
But my stomach twisted.
For some reason… I felt like this was connected to Jay.
I immediately pushed the thought away and forced myself to focus on the lecture.
Break time came.
Eman was busy making something while Calix suddenly received a phone call.
He looked at the screen and answered immediately.
After a few moments, he ended the call and looked at us.
Calix: "The girls are coming here. Aries too."
Felix: "Why?"
Calix: "I don't know."
A few minutes later, they entered the classroom.
And the moment Freya walked in—
Freya: "Where's Jay?"
Straight to the point.
No hello.
No greeting.
Nothing.
Edrix answered first.
Edrix: "She didn't come to school today."
Something flashed across Freya's face.
Worry.
Real worry.
Then Aries stepped forward.
Aries: "If she's not here, then she's probably at home. Girls, come with me."
That was when I noticed Honey standing with them.
Keifer: "Honey? What are you doing here?"
She blinked before giving me a small smile.
Honey: "Oh… you were here? Sorry, I didn't notice."
That hurt more than it should have.
Honey: "I came with them because I wanted to meet Jay. But if she's at home, I'll just go there with them."
Mica: "Yeah, come with us. We know where she lives."
Then she turned toward Calix.
Mica: "And Calix, don't wait for me today."
She glanced at Grace too.
Mica: "Same for you, Grace."
Calix: "Okay. Sir also told us to stay after class anyway."
Mica, Rakki, and Grace: "Bye!"
And just like that, they left.
We finished lunch in silence before returning to class.
The final bell rang.
Sir Alvin entered the room again.
This time, he was holding a single envelope.
My heart dropped instantly.
He placed it on the teacher's table carefully.
Sir Alvin: "Jay gave this to me."
Silence.
Sir Alvin: "She told me to give it to all of you during dispersal."
Then he left.
Nobody moved.
Nobody breathed.
That letter felt heavier than anything in the room.
Minutes passed before Ci-N finally stood up with trembling hands and picked it up.
He slowly opened it.
David: "Read it loudly… we all need to hear it."
Ci-N nodded weakly before starting.
"To Section E,
Hi.
If you are reading this letter, then I probably already left."
Everything inside me shattered.
Ci-N: "No…"
"You know what's funny?
The people I trusted the most were the same people hiding things from me."
Everyone lowered their heads.
"But okay… I'm not writing this letter to fight anymore.
I just want to say what I couldn't say properly before leaving.
Yes.
I tested all of you."
Felix: "What…?"
"Every single one of you.
And do you know what hurt the most?
Not one of you looked guilty.
Not one.
Looks like your plan worked perfectly.
The app.
The bet.
The secrets.
The lies.
I understood some of it was 'for my safety,' but honestly… I still don't understand how the bet was supposed to protect me."
The room broke apart.
Some started crying quietly.
Some completely lost composure.
"But forget it.
Everything became too much for me.
Maybe I was never strong enough for this kind of pain."
Ci-N's voice cracked while reading.
"Ci-N, fulfill your dream of becoming a pilot even if the whole world tells you no. I know you can do it."
Ci-N completely broke down.
Ci-N: "Ate…"
"Yuri, find someone who chooses you completely and never makes you doubt your worth."
Yuri froze.
"David, stop sleeping in class. At least pretend to listen sometimes."
Even through tears, a few people laughed weakly.
"Felix, don't stay angry at your brother forever. Some relationships are too important to lose because of pride.
He stayed away because he thought it was the only way to protect you."
Felix suddenly stood up.
Felix: "No… no, she can't leave like this…"
"Mayo and Kit, tell people about your relationship proudly. Loving someone is never something to be ashamed of."
The entire section looked at them.
Without saying a word, they hugged each other tightly.
"Denzel, take care of Grace. And tell your daughter she had a godmother who loved her very much."
Denzel slammed his fist into the wall.
Again.
And again.
The calm expression he always carried completely disappeared.
"Edrix, ask Freya out already. And if she says yes, love her properly."
Edrix stared silently at the floor.
"Rory, help that idiot because without you he'll probably fail."
Both of them stared at the letter like it might suddenly change.
"And to the rest of Section E…
Thank you.
Even after everything, you still made this year one of the happiest years of my life.
Please stay together.
Don't let misunderstandings destroy your friendship the way they destroyed me."
At that point, almost everyone was crying openly.
Then Ci-N stopped reading.
His hands shook violently.
I felt my breathing stop.
"And Keifer…"
The entire room turned toward me.
"I know you don't love me.
But I loved you.
More than I should have.
So please stay happy… and continue leading Section E properly."
I couldn't breathe.
"And one last thing before I go…
'Mahal kita, Keifer.'
Maybe in another universe, we would have survived each other.

Silence.
Then everything exploded.
People cried.
Some shouted.
Some begged.
Some denied everything.
But me?
I couldn't hear anything anymore.
I grabbed my bag immediately.
Yuri: "Where are you going?"
I looked at them.
Keifer: "To the Fernandez Mansion."
The entire section stood up.
Section E: "We're coming too."
Gema POV
I entered the house.
It was silent.
Too silent.
The mansion felt empty… like nobody lived there anymore.
Tita Gema: "Jay?"
No answer.
I smiled a little.
Tita Gema: "Probably at school."
I walked toward the kitchen and started cooking.
I wanted to surprise her.
Angelo POV
The moment I entered the house, the smell of food welcomed me.
Angelo: "Jay?"
Tita Gema: "It's me, Angelo. Jay's not here. She's probably at school."
I frowned slightly.
Angelo: "Or sleeping. I'll check her room."
Tita Gema: "Okay, but don't invade her privacy too much."
Then she laughed softly.
Tita Gema: "Besides, if she were awake, she would've already come downstairs. The food smells too good, and you know how much she loves food."
I smiled a little.
That part was true.
Jay loved food more than anything.
I went upstairs to freshen up before waiting for Jay and Aries.
A little while later, the front door opened.
Aries: "Jay! The girls are going to come to meet—"
He stopped.
His expression changed instantly.
Angelo: "Aries… why are you calling for Jay?"
He looked at me slowly.
Aries: "What do you mean?"
My chest tightened.
Angelo: "You said she was home."
Aries looked horrified.
Aries: "She didn't come to school today."
We both froze.
Then we ran upstairs.
We checked Jay's room.
Empty.
Bathroom.
Empty.
Balcony.
Empty.
Then I noticed it.
Her closet.
Half empty.
My heart dropped.
Aries slowly looked toward the bed.
Two letters rested there.
One labeled:
For the Girls
And the other—
For My Family
Aries grabbed it immediately.
We opened it together.
"To My Family,
Hi.
First of all… I'm sorry.
I'm sorry I left without properly saying goodbye.
I thought leaving all of you would keep you safe.
Maybe I was wrong.
Maybe I was right.
But at that moment, it felt like the only thing I could do.
So… sorry once again."
Tita Gema started crying quietly.
"Tita Gema, thank you for loving me when my own mother couldn't.
Thank you for giving me a home even after I chose violence and caused so many problems.
You still accepted me with open arms when you had every reason not to."
Tita Gema covered her mouth while crying.
"Aries, I know me leaving will hurt you.
I know our relationship was finally starting to become better, and I'm sorry I left before we could fix everything completely.
But thank you for trying to understand me little by little.
I love you, Kuya Ari."
Aries looked seconds away from punching the wall.
"Kuya Angelo, thank you for being the older brother I needed all my life.
You were my cousin, but you loved me like I was your real younger sister.
You became a father figure to me when nobody allowed me to meet my own father."
I froze.
"I know you scolded me a lot because you didn't want me to live a life like yours.
And mostly because you never really knew how to show how much you loved us.
But I understood.
Even when you never said it directly… I understood."
How did she know?
That was the only thing running through my mind.
"Percy, finding out you were my stepbrother was one of the biggest surprises of my life.
Please stay happy.
And please find your way back to Felix.
Life is too short to lose people you love because of misunderstandings and pride."
From the corner of my eye, I saw Aries calling someone frantically.
"And lastly…
Lola.
There's only one thing I want to say to you.
I love you very much."
My chest hurt.
"I love you, Tita.
I love you, Kuya Angelo.
I love you, Kuya Percy.
Thank you for becoming my family.
Bye.

The room completely fell apart.
Tita Gema cried openly.
Aries wiped his face angrily.
Then suddenly—
The front door opened.
Percy: "Where's Jay? Aries said she's not here— what does that mean?"
I silently handed him the letter.
He read it.
And his eyes slowly filled with tears.
Then more footsteps echoed through the mansion.
Section E entered.
Ci-N immediately stepped forward.
Ci-N: "Where's Jay?"
Nobody answered.
Keifer stepped forward next.
His eyes were red.
His voice was shaking with anger.
Keifer: "Where is Jay?"
Then the girls entered too.
Freya: "Why are you all here?"
She looked around the silent mansion.
Then at our faces.
Her expression slowly changed.
Freya: "...Where's Jay?"
Mica looked terrified.
Mica: "She's okay… right?"
Percy finally spoke.
His voice cracked.
Percy: "She left."
Everyone froze.
All: "What?"
Angelo: "She left."
Rakki: "No… that's impossible."
Angelo: "She also left a letter for you girls."
Freya slowly took the envelope with trembling hands.
Then she opened it.
And started reading.
"Hi girls…"
