Honestly. I don't have an answer.
The story ended there, and I woke up. I don't know whether Elena actually made it out. In the same way I don't know whether what happened in that dream was real at all. But I think an ending without an answer is actually its own kind of answer. Everyone reading it carries their own version. If you believe she got out, she got out. If you think she's still inside — that's a complete story too.
