Riven looked around him as he carried a heavy rod on his back. All around him, human slaves were tirelessly working to craft weapons — which would be used to destroy human civilization.
He let out a mental sigh and continued carrying the rods towards a furnace. Right after infiltrating, he immediately began carrying metal rods to the furnace to blend in.
The infiltration was only possible due to the efforts of Null and the others. Now they were patiently waiting outside for him to complete his mission.
And if anything went wrong then they would enter…
But of course, he had no intention of completing the mission. He was actively looking for a chance to escape — so far he had found none.
Suddenly a voice echoed from his right.
"Where the hell are you going, kid!! If my work gets delayed because of you I will kill you!"
Riven tilted his head. He had walked past the furnace that he was supposed to be delivering the rods. Not wanting to cause a commotion, he walked towards the man and threw them to the ground near him.
Then the man glared at him and said,
"Get me some coal kid…"
Riven just nodded his head in response… As far as he remembered, there was a gate near the coal that he could use to leave the manufacturing complex. He started to walk towards it.
But as he walked towards it… He spotted someone who made his eyes grow narrow. Just a few meters away, near the entrance of a large building Dreykal stood while a few Vrekhar kneeled in front of him.
They were talking — then Dreykal turned and went inside, the others following close behind. The gate shut tight.
The person he was looking for was here. He thought to himself.
"This completely changes my plan…"
Dreykal was here so there was no need for him to leave this place. Fate had brought his target to him. But what would be his next steps now?
He could attack him but he wasn't sure if he could win… not with his current army and strength.
Riven stared at the building — the one that Dreykal was inside.
The building that he went inside housed a weapons Depot. It was buried deep underground so if he were to cause a ruckus up here then he wouldn't know.
And as far as he could tell, there was no Awakened Vrekhar other than him in the manufacturing complex.
So he could technically seal all the Vrekhar above to make his army grow stronger for him to fight Dreykal.
Riven thought for a moment. He looked around him — countless Vrekhar soldiers were beating, torturing, and humiliating human slaves. Although he wouldn't foil his plan to save them, he did feel bad for them since he was in their position not long ago.
He thought to himself.
"I am not going to do that… at least not right now."
Null and the others were stationed outside the manufacturing complex. If he started to attack the Vrekhar soldiers then they would certainly notice and reveal themselves.
If they did that, he wouldn't be able to explain why he attacked the Vrekhar before destroying even a single Depot.
In the end, he wouldn't even be able to complete his personal mission and the alliance between his allies will be destroyed. Those same allies will become his enemies.
He fell into deep thought, thinking about what to do. A heartbeat later, he mumbled.
"There is only one thing I can do…"
He looked around him — there was no Vrekhar soldier near him. So instead of carrying the coal, he rushed towards the area where newly crafted weapons which were waiting to be transported to the weapons depot, were kept.
A moment later, he saw weapons such as swords, axes, and a shield placed on top of a large table beside a large furnace.
Riven grabbed a few swords and axes then he was just about to walk away but then a voice echoed from behind him.
"Where are you going?"
Riven glanced at the man and said.
"I am going to keep the weapons depot."
The man nodded and said.
"Store them in Depot number 5."
Riven just nodded and rushed towards a certain building south of the building where Dreykal had entered. This was the second biggest Depot only second to the Depot which Dreykal had entered.
He was going to destroy that. This way he would be able to explain that he got caught while trying to destroy a Depot.
As for the man's word? He didn't care. Since he had to destroy a Depot. He was going to destroy the one which would cause the most damage to them.
After all, they had ruined his life by killing his family. Anything that harms them, brings peace to his heart.
When he was just a few meters away from the building, he saw that the gate was closed and two Vrekhar soldiers were guarding the entrance.
Riven looked around him and saw that there was no one except them.
He thought to himself.
"I guess it's just them and me. It's perfect."
A heartbeat later, when he was close enough, one of the guards stopped him and said.
"Halt. Where are you going, slave?"
Riven replied without hesitation or fear.
"I am here to store weapons."
One of the Vrekhar guards raised their weapons, pointed them towards him, and spoke in human language.
"You insects aren't supposed to be here when the depot is full. You must face the punishment for breaking this rule."
Riven said nothing. A heartbeat later, he threw all the weapons towards the guard at the right, it flew straight towards him. Then it hit his chest with a tremendous force making the guard fall to his knees.
Riven didn't waste his breath; instead he dashed towards the other guard, punched him in the chest, and his armor cracked as he slammed into the wall.
But he wasn't done, he rushed towards the guard that he had punched just now and wrapped his neck with chains. He pulled them as the chains around the Vrekhar soldier's neck tightened.
He whispered into the dying Vrekhar's ears.
"You will die…"
Only a few words escaped the dying Vrekhar's mouth.
"In… in… intrude…r"
