Ayanami Rei lay sprawled on the floor after a violent tremor. She shouldn't have even been here, but she was brought in because of him. Ikari Shinji felt guilty, but his guilt wasn't enough to make him step forward, that's when a miracle happened for him.

"I'll do it! I'll pilot the eva!" Shouted a haughty voice firm with determination that echoed through the docking bay.

All eyes fell on the voice which belonged to a girl with light brown hair tinted with orange. Her eyes, just like Shinji's, were blue. Her eyes had to be. It was the only way you could see that Asuka and Shinji were brother and sister. Shinji was distinctly Japanese while Asuka was distinctly foreign. Even the way they talked was different.

"I'm afraid that isn't possible–" began a voice over the PA system until Asuka cut through it with a shrill voice.

"Why?! Because I'm a girl?! What about her?! Isn't she the same?!" Asuka stomped and held her hand out at the girl on the floor writhing around in pain.

Asuka turned around sharply and got in close to Ritsuko Akagi, a stern woman wearing a lab coat and holding a clipboard in her hand. Technicians shuffled about trying to not listen to the drama unfolding around them, a tight tension thickening in the air filling the bay itself.

"You're a practical woman aren't you Doctor Akagi? You tell that man up there that he'd better send me out there if he wants results. I may not have proper training, but I bet you I'll be a hell of a lot more useful than idiot Shinji here!"

Ritsuko's eye twitched before she rested her face. She pressed a finger to her glasses and let out a sigh.

"You have a point. This wasn't the plan… but I suppose that's what we get for using human factors. Asuka is right, commander Ikari. Since she's willing, you should use her instead."

"Very well. Since time is of the essence, proceed with placing Asuka inside the Eva."

A sense of urgency filled the bay as technicians moves around and the entry plug of the Eva was opened. Asuka moved to follow Ritsuko to the entry plug when she felt Shinji grab her arm.

 "Wait! Asuka! Don't… I should…"

Asuka placed her hand on Shinji's.

"I promise I'll come back. I know you're not ready yet, and no one has any right to force you."

"Asuka… your grip is weaker than normal. You're not okay either."

"You're going to learn one day that you'll have to face scary things when no one else will. That's the only way to grow up."

Shinji's grip weakened and Asuka pulled away from him and disappeared out of sight. The only thing circling in Shinji's mind now was that he was worthless and that he was pathetic.

Growing up with Asuka wasn't easy, but it also made growing up a less traumatic experience. She was both a sister and a mother to him, the latter coming through only after their mother disappeared through a tragedy they were never told the details of. Shinji was the thinker, and Asuka was the doer, both of them extreme in their quirks.

Asuka got in a lot of trouble, and as a result, Shinji had to figure out ways to get her out of trouble with the adults. He may not have been a go-getter, but he knew how to reason with adults. He never really understood why Asuka was the way that she was, only that it resonated with him for some reason. She was like a hero to him, a haughty and loud hero, but a hero nonetheless.

Normally her attitude helped him feel better about himself and gave him the courage to face things he otherwise wouldn't bother dealing with. These included things like being more friendly to people, getting involved in clubs and activities, and exploring new places like they were some sort of grand adventure. She reminded him of a character in an Anime named Suzumiya Haruhi. She was like her, but she didn't force people to conform to her whims. Asuka knew when to back off.

Her attitude about things always made Shinji feel better, but not this time. This time she was wrong. This wasn't a grand adventure, a new activity, or an inconvenient interaction. This was serious. This was a life or death situation, and their father had irresponsibly dragged them into this shit. If Asuka had just kept her mouth shut, maybe they would have been sent away. Maybe they could have escaped this, but she made a bad move.

By doing exactly what Gendo Ikari wanted she had transformed herself into a permanent pawn of his whether she wanted it or not. Shinji by extension was now also his father's pawn. Truthfully he hadn't really gotten involved yet, but now that Asuka was involved– Shinji's relationship with Asuka wasn't a glowing example of sibling bonding… but they were close.

It was just a year ago that they started talking about growing up. It was a hard subject to discuss, but they forced themselves to discuss it regardless. Asuka had a mindset of wanting to skip as much of the puberty shit as much as possible, but Shinji didn't think he had what it took to be someone who has to take care of himself. By comparing notes and digging deep into each other's deepest desires they found that neither of them were ready to stop being kids.

The foreboding of their youth slipping away depressed them for awhile, but they were both able to come to an agreement… that when growing up came to take them away that they would face it together. That by supporting each other they could find a way to navigate what it meant to go through growing pains and grow into the role of a proper adult. It looked like that time had come, and Shinji was scared.

The night that followed was long and intense. The thing Asuka had agreed to pilot had turned out to be more than she bargained for, and the thing she was forced to fight was more terrifying than anything they could have imagined.

What the shit was this? What had their father gotten involved in and why?! Shinji was told it was an angel, but that thing was no angel. It was some kind of eldritch kaiju horror. It wasn't a thing, it was an entity. It wasn't a monster, it was something darker, something from the deep recesses of a nightmare the mind would bury quickly. Watching Asuka try to fight it triggered fears Shinji didn't even know existed. She was out of her depth, and it didn't take her long to start losing.

Shinji started to protest and started trying to reason with Captain Katsuragi, but his father quickly put a stop to that. Security started dragging him away, and just when Asuka's situation started to get worse. He didn't see the end of the battle. He was never told what went down, and he was confined to a room with a guard for hours. When he was finally let out, it was by Captain Katsuragi. Asuka was in the hospital.

Two days passed and Asuka hadn't woken up from her coma yet. Whatever went down out there messed her up pretty badly. Apparently she had killed the angel, but Shinji didn't care. He just wanted her to wake up. He needed her to wake up. He cursed his father… but it didn't take long for him to start cursing everyone involved.

Their father may have been the one in charge, but none of the technicians in the situation room defied his orders. They were all adults. Adults were supposed to protect children, not put them in harm's way. Adults were supposed to be smart… they were supposed to care… they were… Shinji broke down in tears gripping onto the blankets of Asuka's bed for support. He lost his balance and ended up ripping them off her, exposing her body to the elements.

Shinji stood up, startled back and then froze. Asuka was naked wearing only a pair of white panties. The right move would have been to pull the blankets back onto her, but that thought hadn't even crossed Shinji's mind yet, because it was being shut out by other thoughts. Shinji had never seen a naked girl. Asuka was his sister, but she was still a girl, so his eyes fixated on her in her vulnerable state.

Whether he consciously wanted it or not, he had a raging boner unlike anything he had ever had before. His eyes panned up and down her body taking in its supple curves, peaks and valleys. He looked at her soft pink nipples poking out on her breasts. It was real breasts on a real girl, and he was looking at it.

He tried to squeeze his eyes shut, he tried to look away, but his body had other ideas. He reached for the button on his pants, undid them and then pulled out his hardened penis feeling a rush of cold hospital air on it. He began stroking it while looking at Asuka. In that moment, Asuka wasn't his sister. She was an object fueling lust for him. He knew what he was doing was bad, that it might turn him into a monster worse than whatever Asuka had just killed, but he was weak. This was proof of that.

He managed to pull some semblance of sanity to the front of his mind and began stroking faster. If he could cum… if he could hit that post-nut clarity quickly, maybe he'd traumatized himself so much he would never do it again. He suppressed moans, stroked faster than he ever had in his life and felt himself reach the edge. He put a hand in front of his shaft and blasted his hand with his white thick essence.

He breathed heavily then slowly started to lift his hand in front of his face. The evidence was real. This wasn't a dream. He really had just masturbated to his comatose sister. Tears welled up, his teeth bared, his face contorted and he fell to the ground. The post-nut clarity hit hard. A single phrase escaped his lips, softly disrupting the air around him.

 "I'm so fucked up."
