GA: Chapter 109: A Conversation With Tenshi Hikari — Sacred Right Wing, Angel Zixin?
Devil Fruits, armors, Kamen Riders, Imperial Arms, magic cards...
Every one of these items could grant its host extraordinary talent and power. And crucially, whether someone received more of them came down largely to luck and the nature of their own character.
Within the Spiritual Energy Bureau, a number of people had already obtained items like these — and the Bureau had begun actively reaching out to ability users who'd acquired them as well.
Whether those individuals chose to join was entirely their own decision. No one was being coerced.
In this era, aside from the one true "god," there would be no fixed pantheon.
As long as ability users were willing to stand up and protect the people and the country in their own way, the nation would support them.
Qin Tian and the others were only the beginning. The Huaxia of the future would have far more figures worthy of the name.
"This many Pokémon — are you angels planning to build a Pokémon legion?"
Bai Xuan's mouth twitched as he looked at the sheer number of Pokémon filling the space around them in his video call with Tenshi Hikari.
Pikachu, the Starter Three, Minum, Ralts, Skitty...
He didn't know which part of the Elysian Realm Hikari was in, but with this many gathered in one place, he genuinely suspected she was putting together an entire Pokémon army.
"More or less — though our original reason was simply that their pure and gentle nature aligns perfectly with what angels are. Nothing more than that."
"Not a single angel has been able to resist these little ones. That includes Queen Kesha and the Celestial Base Queen."
"But as Pokémon with real combat capability, their role isn't to be pets — they're partners to the angels."
Hikari didn't deny it. Her expression was soft as she watched the Pokémon moving around her, and she reached out without thinking to catch a passing Squirtle and give its smooth little head a gentle pat.
The myriad worlds truly were remarkable, to have produced a species this adorable, this purely good-natured.
Honestly, they were more angel-like than the angels themselves.
"The points you've spent in the chat group must be well past three hundred million by now."
"More or less."
Bai Xuan let out a quiet sound of admiration. The angel civilization had enormous resources — but pouring that many points into purchases still had to sting somewhere.
After all, the universe's resources were finite. The angels operated under Kesha's order of justice — and while they held a significant share of the known universe's resources, they didn't plunder or overextract. Add to that the resource costs of advancing so many angel warriors, and three hundred million points was by no means a trivial sum even for them.
"What — jealous?"
Tenshi Hikari watched him with an amused expression.
"Thinking about latching onto an angel's coattails?"
As she said it, she pointedly tapped her own pale, slender leg. Bai Xuan glanced at it instinctively, then looked away.
"Not necessary for now."
If he needed points, he had plenty of ways to generate them — through spiritual energy beads, through collecting rare natural treasures from across the Earth, through mutated beast carcasses and ability absorption. But there was no pressing need.
He already had his own path to walk. The current offerings in the chat group's shop weren't going to accelerate that journey.
Items like the Infinity Stones held some theoretical interest — but the resource cost would be enormous, and the burden on Earth at its current stage was simply too great.
"Hmph."
Hikari pursed her lips slightly, then glanced at him and continued.
"Queen Kesha mentioned that Celestial Base King Hexi is thinking of sending Zixin to your world for field training. What do you think?"
"Angel Zixin?"
Bai Xuan was genuinely surprised. Hexi wanted to send Zixin to his world for training?
What could a pre-nuclear civilization like Earth possibly offer in terms of training? Even with the spiritual revival underway, the development period had been far too short. With Zixin's level of strength, there was currently no one on Earth who could match her — except himself.
Compared to his own world, both Su Yunqing's high-martial world and Tony's Marvel world seemed far more suitable environments for someone like her to grow in.
Unless...
"The wine is not the point — it's what's behind the gesture. The Celestial Base King very obviously wants Zixin to come back with a man."
"Feeling flattered? Because that's the Sacred Right Wing of Queen Kesha herself — the Celestial Base King's personal disciple, a Second Generation Divine Being who may one day inherit the Celestial Base King's title."
Tenshi Hikari watched him with a distinctly teasing look.
Bai Xuan, however, didn't particularly react to the teasing.
"What about Zhao Xin? Has he been given up on?"
"And Queen Kesha approved this?"
He furrowed his brow slightly.
Zixin's original intended partner had been Zhao Xin — a decision Sacred Kesha had made based on the Sacred Knowledge Treasury. Zhao Xin's strength and potential might be considered modest, but the Treasury didn't weigh a person by their power or potential.
It weighed the compatibility between two people's data.
For Sacred Kesha, a partner's potential was irrelevant. The angel civilization had no need to strengthen itself through strategic unions.
What she cared about was whether the future of an angel's relationship with someone held the possibility of genuine happiness.
Celestial Base King Hexi didn't believe in letting data determine matters of the heart. If Hexi had known Kesha was planning to arrange things with Zhao Xin, there was a very good chance she would have refused to go along with it. But in Zixin's heart, Queen Kesha's word carried the highest authority — after being freed, the first thing she'd done was to obey Kesha's instruction.
If Hexi approved but Kesha didn't, it would almost certainly go nowhere.
The fact that Hikari was bringing this up directly with him made it clear — Sacred Kesha had approved.
And if her approval wasn't purely because of Hexi's request...
"Sacred Kesha ran a compatibility match between my data and Angel Zixin's?"
That was the answer that seemed most likely to Bai Xuan. His potential was respectable, but not so extraordinary that the angel civilization would proactively send one of their own to his world — and certainly not someone of Zixin's standing as Sacred Right Wing and the Celestial Base King's disciple.
The far more probable explanation was that Sacred Kesha had run his data against Zixin's in the Knowledge Treasury, and the result had come back high — at the very least, not lower than Zixin's compatibility with Zhao Xin.
What puzzled him was why Sacred Kesha would have his data in the first place.
Could personality and ability traits glimpsed through casual conversations with Hikari really be enough for a meaningful data match?
"98%."
"There isn't a single person in the entire known universe who suits Zixin better than you."
Hikari rested her chin against her knee and smiled lightly as she said it — though her tone carried a trace of something more complicated, subtle enough to almost miss.
Zixin's person had been found.
So where was hers?
The Hikari sitting here was not the same one from the original story — not the angel who could look at Queen Kesha and say "I've already waited seven thousand years; waiting another seven thousand is nothing." This Hikari deeply longed for love to arrive.
An angel's yearning for love had nothing to do with maturity. It was simply something suppressed out of necessity.
The reason the original Hikari had been able to hold it back was twofold: she could see that Ge Xiaolun still had growing to do, and the memory of Mei still lingered in her heart. And later, when Queen Kesha fell, Hikari had stepped up to take the mantle of Angel King — at which point matters of the heart had to be set aside entirely.
