GA: Chapter 108: The "God" Has Given People the Chance to Change Their Fate!

"Take the Kamen Rider and Pokémon content that Bai Xuan has shared with us — these aren't works that originated from our world at all."

"We are fortunate. Bai Xuan appeared in Huaxia, and the fact that he has shared these secrets with us without reservation speaks to his trust in us — and his closeness to us."

He paused for a moment, then continued.

"Of course, it isn't only trust. There's a more fundamental reason as well — he simply doesn't care about this information."

"Even if we know it, it does us no practical good."

"And that is precisely the reality of the situation. Bai Xuan possesses more than enough power to suppress every factor on this Earth that could pose a threat to him."

"Which is why, in our approach toward Bai Xuan, we have always maintained closeness without moral coercion. We do not need Bai Xuan to do anything for Huaxia. What we need is simply to preserve the natural affinity he feels toward this country — the kind that comes from blood and birthplace."

"Sometimes, not contending is the greatest form of contending. From Bai Xuan's actions, it isn't difficult to see that he wants to accelerate the pace at which the living beings of Earth's civilization grow stronger. He wants to guide every civilization on this planet toward becoming more powerful, more quickly."

"Huaxia doesn't need to do anything extraordinary. On the board that Bai Xuan controls, Huaxia already occupies the most singular position."

"On that note — I strongly advise certain individuals not to let greed cloud their judgment into doing something they shouldn't. Because anyone who does will have made themselves the enemy of all of Huaxia."

Back home, Bai Xuan glanced into the bedroom to find Doraemon gleefully playing with the two Pikachu, and he smiled and shook his head.

The gaming industry in this world was much the same as his previous life — and naturally far richer than what Doraemon had known in his original world.

But just playing around like this could only entertain for so long.

Doraemon's pocket contained tools for virtual online gaming — and after Bai Xuan had mentioned it once in passing, the two of them had tried it out together. Bai Xuan found it passable enough, but Doraemon had fallen completely and utterly hooked. Since Bai Xuan couldn't keep him company all the time, and Xiaonao's skills were simply too overwhelming to make for a fun experience, Doraemon had somehow ended up bringing the Pikachu along into the game world. The three of them now spent the better part of their days in there.

It had gotten to the point where Bai Xuan was the one reminding them every day to go outside and get some fresh air.

Looking at it that way, he was starting to feel oddly like a parent.

This time he didn't disturb them. He didn't open the chat group either. He simply settled into the study with a book, occasionally pausing to jot down notes in the margins.

For a brief stretch of time, the world felt almost peacefully still.

Meanwhile, the video of Bai Xuan and the mutated white python was spreading like wildfire across the internet.

It was almost funny, in a way — caught in the middle of a dangerous encounter with a mutated beast, and someone had actually chosen to start a livestream.

Shouldn't the instinct be to run?

Naturally, the footage made its way to every platform, shared and reshared by countless viewers.

What was interesting was that the initial videos floating around were shaky and unclear — the kind of footage you'd expect from someone filming while terrified. But before long, several additional versions appeared that were inexplicably crisp, steady, without a single frame of blur.

Most people online didn't think much of it. But the observant ones could read between the lines: the government had stepped in.

"In this age of spiritual revival, a great many people live with constant anxiety and fear of mutated beasts. They face each day with a sense of dread and helplessness."

"What they need is for the strong to give them confidence. To give them a sense of security."

"Dragon Emperor Qin Tian. Ice Emperor Chen Bing. Flame Emperor Huo Yu. White Emperor Bai Xuan."

"These titles were nothing more than playful nicknames at the very beginning — back then, mutated beasts were nowhere near as numerous or as powerful as they are now, and most people only ever saw them through a screen."

"But after the second spiritual tide, the era changed — and those joking titles became something real."

"People need ability users like the Dragon Emperor and the others to stand forward. They need these powerful figures to be their shield."

The man in the white trench coat speaking behind the footage paused, letting that sink in.

Huaxia's god-making operation had succeeded.

But what no one knew was that among those four, only one was truly a god.

If he wished it, no matter how ferocious the spiritual tide, no matter how powerful the mutated beasts grew, not a single civilian in Huaxia — or anywhere on Earth — would need to suffer so much as a scratch.

That was the power of the one they called "god."

But it was an impossible ask.

Earth's resources were finite. Humanity had already claimed a vast share of them, and it was inevitable that mutated beasts would set their sights on humans in return. If someone were to step in and prevent that natural collision from occurring, the consequences would not be good.

Give humans someone they can unconditionally rely on, and their desires and boldness would swell without limit. They would enjoy their own resources and then reach greedily toward the already scarce resources that belonged to the mutated beasts.

Mutated beasts unable to strike back at humans. Humans free to slaughter them without restraint.

Was that a good outcome?

Of course it wasn't.

So the "god" could not do this — and should not do this.

What they needed was a god — but a god defined only by overwhelming power. Not a god with the mindset, the will, and the perspective of a true divine being.

Bai Xuan was the latter. But he could behave as the former.

They would have preferred him to be the former rather than the latter — yet Bai Xuan was already shifting decisively toward the latter.

He would not grieve over human deaths. He would not grieve over the deaths of mutated creatures either.

His gaze was not fixed on humanity alone. It extended to every living thing on this Earth.

He would show favoritism toward humans — but not absolutely.

That was enough. A god like that was enough.

But one god of that kind was more than sufficient.

If they could choose, what they truly wanted was a god who belonged entirely to humanity — to Huaxia. One who cared nothing for mutated beasts, nothing for other civilizations, nothing for anything beyond the moment when humans faced hardship and needed to be saved.

Perhaps the long-term consequences of that would be ugly. But it was what they wanted.

Though "god" wasn't really the right word for something like that. More accurately — what they wanted was a hero.

Qin Tian, Chen Bing, Huo Yu, Ye Feng, Chen Changsheng, Ning Guang, Wang Ming — these were the heroes Huaxia had chosen to cultivate. Deployed across every region of the country, each responsible for the safety of their territory. Blessed with formidable talent, considerable strength, and the finest treatment Huaxia could offer.

But there were too few of them. Against the vastness of Huaxia as a whole, they were a drop in the ocean.

They needed more heroes. More exceptional talents with the kind of power that matched Qin Tian.

In the past, this had been a near impossibility. Talent was determined the moment spiritual energy revived and the global awakening occurred — fixed at that instant. The second spiritual tide and its secondary awakening only manifested in those who already had talent to begin with.

The strong grew stronger. Those with weak talent couldn't even get spiritual energy to naturally draw near them, let alone build on it.

But now, things were different.

The "God" had given ordinary people the chance to change their fate.
