Chapter 83 - Chapter 83: Detective Gojo Satoru

"Back to business. What did your Six Eyes see?" Tsukumo Yuki asked.

"Some kind of enormous creature soaring through the sky. This snake-like being lowered its massive head, opened its maw, and spewed some kind of energy attack. A single strike shattered the entire ground. The direct impact zone, as you can see, exceeds two kilometers, with the shockwave range surpassing ten. Honestly, if you told me, it was some new type of nuclear bomb, I'd believe you." Gojo Satoru exhaled slowly.

"How does it compare to your Hollow Technique?" Tsukumo Yuki inquired.

Generally speaking, unless boosted by a Domain Expansion, the forward application of a Cursed Technique and its reversal are two completely distinct methods of release. In fact, even Mahito is the same; he cannot use both forward and reversed technique application simultaneously.

But Gojo Satoru's existence shattered this established rule. He is the only Jujutsu Sorcerer in the history of the jujutsu world capable of using both forward and reversed technique applications at the same time.

Even Ryomen Sukuna couldn't achieve this.

He possesses a unique secret skill. It's not that he refuses to teach it to others; it's that others simply cannot learn it. He simultaneously activates both the forward and reversed applications of his Cursed Technique, unleashing power that far exceeds normal logic. He named this special technique the Hollow Technique.

"In terms of wide-area destructive power alone, it surpasses my Hollow Technique," Gojo Satoru admitted. Possessing his own pride, he disdained to lie, but he couldn't help adding, "However, the inherent nature of my Hollow Technique was never about wide-area destruction. It excels more in penetrating power and single-point breakthrough force.

"If I used the Hollow Technique to attack from the sky downward, it would only leave a channel straight through to the earth's core, not blow out a massive crater."

Gojo Satoru wasn't lying. His Hollow Technique truly isn't remarkable in terms of destructive power. In the original work, during his one-on-one fight with Ryomen Sukuna, he once fired a Hollow Technique blast from two kilometers away aimed at Sukuna's position, yet that bombardment only destroyed half a skyscraper.

Instead, Ryomen Sukuna, who took the direct hit, was almost half-dead. Sukuna even stated outright that if he hadn't prepared defenses at the most critical moment, he likely would have been severely wounded to the point of death.

And remember, that was Ryomen Sukuna at his peak.

Before Ryomen Sukuna reached his peak, he once fought Jogo. At that time, Jogo dropped a massive meteorite with a diameter of fifty meters. The destructive force nearly wiped out the entire Shibuya area. Yet, against such immense devastation, Ryomen Sukuna casually sliced it apart with a single application of his technique, completely unharmed.

The contrast is too stark.

"It seems even the famous 'Strongest of the Modern Era' is feeling the pressure. Normally, you wouldn't even bother to argue—you'd just sneer contemptuously, not even deigning to refute," Tsukumo Yuki teased.

Gojo Satoru shrugged his shoulders, offering no defense.

After her teasing remark, Tsukumo Yuki continued, "Wasn't it said the King of Curses' ability is to 'allow humans to evolve'? Did it also modify itself, becoming the enormous creature you described?"

"That should be the case," Gojo Satoru mused with a nod.

"What do you think it is?" Tsukumo Yuki asked.

"A dragon," Gojo Satoru said in a low voice. "That's a dragon. The highest-level dragon-type Cursed Spirit. Geto once had a Cursed Spirit like that in his possession. He named it Rainbow Dragon. Although it wasn't a Special Grade Cursed Spirit, it still became the strongest shield in his arsenal."

"In this country, a Special Grade dragon-type Cursed Spirit has never been born before—because that's no longer a Cursed Spirit. That's a god, a Dragon God." Tsukumo Yuki fell silent, unconsciously shuddering.

Gojo Satoru asked, "What did you discover in the ruins of the Zen'in Family?"

"Marks. Perfect arcs that only a master swordsman could execute," Tsukumo Yuki said. "I examined the condition of the Kukuru squad members. On all their corpses were those flawless slash marks, as if a sword saint were casually swinging his blade, the tip lightly grazing the vital points of the Kukuru. All the Kukuru squad members fell like stalks of wheat.

"I felt like I was watching a brilliant samurai film. Rainy night, kimono, katana… and of course, a formidable, brave villain."

"The King of Curses is brewing a state," Gojo Satoru said slowly. "It is seeking a higher level of Cursed Energy flow… Black Flash. It wants…"

"…to enter a Black Flash state."

Tsukumo Yuki nodded lightly. "I can already imagine the King of Curses' state.

"It's not a Cursed Spirit as understood by common sense. It has its own thoughts, its own philosophy, even its own sense of honor. It suffered humiliation, and even though it clearly knew the Zen'in Family was one of the Big Three Families of the jujutsu world, it still came."

Tsukumo Yuki imagined the battle that night. Although it was a brutal act of extermination, for a moment she felt transported to an ancient road of the Heian era, a single man with a single sword, a lone dragon in the night:

"It announced itself at the main gate of the Zen'in Family, holding a sword in its hand.

"It first used the sword in its hand to engage the enemy. As the fight progressed, its skill with the blade became increasingly refined. At the start, it used the sword to cut people in half, fierce and violent. But as it killed, it grew more proficient. Gradually, it abandoned directly cutting people apart. It evaded everyone's weapons, killing only with the tip of its blade, strolling through the rainy night.

"Then, it stepped through the Zen'in Family gate and faced the fierce assault of the Hei. At this point, it could no longer rely solely on swordsmanship to win. It employed its Cursed Technique.

"My eyes couldn't discern what technique it was. It didn't intentionally reduce the residual Cursed Energy on the battlefield, but the interweaving of techniques was too chaotic for me to distinguish.

"But one can imagine it was an earth-shattering jujutsu battle, because the excessive residual Cursed Energy tangled together, indistinguishable from one another. The entire Zen'in Family residence became ruins during that battle. It and the Zen'in Family's Hei fought with all their might.

"It ultimately defeated the Hei and stepped into the Zen'in Family's main residence, where the head of the Zen'in Family, Zen'in Naobito, was waiting for it." Tsukumo Yuki snapped back to reality, pointed a finger at the huge crater, and concluded:

"Their battle started from the Zen'in main residence and was fought all the way here, where the victor was finally decided."
