Chapter 3 - Alone

Ivor stepped out the giant fortress gate with a lingering sense of dread. He turned to take one more look at the towering castle near the mountains peak.

Such a massive city built on the side of the largest mountain Vinterskräck kingdom had to offer. The beauty of it's obsidian color stone clashing with the snow all year round.

Ivor placed placed on open palm on his left shoulder.

"Long live those face the winter with pride and arrogance!! " he yelled out before glancing at the guards.

In a hesitant step he turned his back and headed into the forest. His feet rose and sank into the snow with a loud crunch. His breath like fog as the fur on his coat around his neck stole it's heat and warmed his neck.

Looking at the sky, filled with nothing but clouds he sighed.

Why did I bother wearing the black one?

Taking careful measured steps he, trudged on, following the mountain range beside the black fotress city.

Thirty minutes into his journey, debris started appearing beside him. At first it was just a few pieces of wood and fallen trees, but as he continued destroyed cabins started appearing.

Some partialy destroyed while others were reduced to nothing but firewood, which gladly took and carried them off to the only cabin that still stood.

A small cabin in the middle of all the chaos. A cabin so small that you wouldn't even be able to fit a full family inside.

Home sweet home

He thought to himself with a crooked smile. He entered the cabin and tossed the fire wood onto the fire place before closing the door shut and shedding his enormous coat.

He took off his cow hide Armour and tossed it aside before finally taking a seat on the bed.

"How am I going to find Fenrir now?" he asked himself in a daze.

He stared at the door for a moment before looking down at his abdomen to reveal a dragon head tattoo right above his pelvis on his right side.

"I still don't know when I got you."

Letting go of his shirt he let out a long sigh. Ivor rose from his bed and quickly dressed himself and grabbed his sword, walking back out into the snow.

He walked around the cabin till he reached a couple of training dummies. Preparing to swing he raised his sword.

"You must be a lonely bastard to be willing living out here," a voice spoke out behind Ivor.

He turned to see a stranger dressed in an all white fur suit, a pale white face with barely noticeable blue eyes.

"And what concern is it to you?" Ivor shot back.

The stranger let out a chuckle while frantically waving his arms around.

"I didn't mean it in a bad way. I just didn't think someone would be actually living in that little old cabin over there," he continued chuckling and pointing to the cabin.

The stranger walked up to Ivor till he was within striking distance and extended his hand.

" The name's Gustov, pleasure to make your acquaintance, "Gustov said with a smile.

Ivor stared into his face before shaking his hand.

" Ivor Snowborn, "he responded shaking his hand.

" Well then, I apologize for inconveniencing you Ivor. I was just heading over the Faust mountain range on my way to the autumn kingdom, "said Gustov.

Ivor responded with a nod as Gustov smiled and left. Ivor followed him with an eagle eye till he he disappeared over the peak of the mountain range.
