Chapter 5 - "The Real Hunt Begins"

Jax reached into his left pocket and pulled out the silver tracking device. He held it up so the green light reflected in Rick's eyes.

"This time, you're coming with us," Jax said. "We don't just need a driver. We need an expert thief."

Rick's face went pale. "Thief? I'm a mechanic, Jax. Not a criminal."

Yuna leaned against a chassis, a playful but sharp grin on her face. "Don't be so formal with us, Rick. We all know how you 'collect' those rare, expensive vehicle parts. You didn't buy them at a Sela-certified market."

Rick looked from Yuna to Jax, realizing he was outmatched. He let out a long sigh of surrender. "Fine. What's the job?"

Jax pocketed the tracker and stepped closer. "Professor Dallas ordered a precious SMR chip. The armored train carrying it was hijacked. We're going to take it back."

Rick blinked, confused. "Hijacked? A Sela transport train? Those things are secured by high-ranking officials . How is that even possible?"

Rick stood up, his playful attitude completely gone as he realized the gravity of the situation. "That's not a 'job,' Jax. That's a suicide mission."

"We have the location," Yuna interrupted, her energy rising despite the hour. "They're heading for the Gear Port to ship it out. We catch them before they reach the docks."

Jax let out a long, weary yawn. The lack of sleep was finally catching up to him, his vision blurring at the edges as his eyes began to heavy.

Rick looked at them—one exhausted warrior and one hyper-active navigator. He tossed his grease-stained towel aside. "I have a fully charged desert buggy idling out back. If we're going to die, we might as well do it in the fastest car in Ferrum. You guys ready?"

Yuna's eyes lit up with excitement. Jax simply nodded, leaning against the garage wall for a brief second of rest before the real hunt began.
