The next morning, Shivgarh Village was peaceful as usual.
The birds chirped, the wind blew softly, and the villagers were starting their
daily chores.
But far away, in the northern mountains, three black-robed
figures moved silently through the forest. Their presence was not natural — the
air seemed heavier where they passed, and the forest itself seemed to recoil
slightly from their steps.
These were no ordinary men. They were hunters, trained to
track, kill, and capture cultivators who had yet to realize their full
potential.
And today, their target was Rudra of the Mahakaal bloodline.
The Hunters' Arrival
The leader, a tall man with golden eyes, stopped on a high
rock and scanned the village below.
"My lord," said the smallest of the three, bowing slightly.
"The energy… it's faint but growing. It is coming from that
village. A young cultivator."
The leader smiled faintly.
"Good. It has begun. Prepare the tools. The child cannot
hide forever."
From the folds of his robe, he produced a crystal orb. The
orb glowed with black and golden light. When he focused, the image of Rudra
appeared inside.
"Patience," the leader said, "We will not strike
immediately. First, we observe. Then we act."
Rudra's Training
Meanwhile, back in the ruins, Rudra was practicing his first
cultivation.
He could now feel energy flowing through his body, following
the spinning point in his chest — the Void Core. He tried controlling it,
moving it to his arms, his legs, and even his head.
"Not bad for a first attempt," he whispered to himself,
though he did not know where the voice of confidence came from.
Hours passed, and Rudra discovered something unexpected:
His strength had increased slightly.
His speed and reflexes improved.
He could sense energy outside his body — faint, like ripples
on water.
And then he noticed it: a shadow moving far above the forest
line.
Something was watching him.
The First Confrontation
Rudra's senses screamed at him. The shadow moved closer,
faster than any normal human could run.
Before he could react, three figures landed silently on the
ground in front of him.
"Mahakaal heir," the leader said calmly. "Do you know who we
are?"
Rudra's first instinct was to run, but his legs refused to
move.
The two other hunters stepped forward, their eyes glowing
faintly with golden energy.
Rudra could feel it — these were cultivators, trained and
dangerous.
The Awakening of Instincts
Rudra clenched his fists. The spinning point in his chest
pulsed faster, responding to the presence of danger.
Suddenly, the first hunter lunged forward. Rudra
instinctively dodged — faster than he had ever moved.
The two hunters attacked simultaneously. Rudra felt the
energy flow through his arms, guiding his movements.
Even though he had never fought anyone before, his body
moved on its own, as if guided by the Void Core inside him.
A single punch sent the nearest hunter staggering backward.
Another sweep of his hand deflected a blade that would have cut deep into his
shoulder.
Rudra's heart pounded. The exhilaration was overwhelming,
but he knew one thing clearly: he was far weaker than them.
The Leader's Interest
The leader observed silently, stepping forward only
slightly. He did not attack.
"Interesting," he said quietly, almost to himself.
"This child… he has the Void Core active. And he moves
instinctively. He is stronger than I expected."
Then he raised his hand. A wave of invisible force struck
Rudra, throwing him several meters across the ruins.
Rudra hit the ground hard, his body shaking. Pain surged
through him, but the Void Core inside him flared — protecting him, stabilizing
him.
The leader smiled again.
"Not bad. Very promising. Perhaps this one will be… useful."
Retreat
Suddenly, Rudra felt another presence nearby — subtle,
delicate, yet overwhelming. It was his first beast companion.
From the shadows of the ruins emerged a creature Rudra had
never seen before: the ancient unknown beast, black as obsidian, with glowing
red eyes that seemed to pierce through reality.
The hunters froze. One of them whispered:
"What… is that?"
The beast growled. Its roar echoed like the mountains
themselves were trembling. Rudra felt a strange connection — the beast was tied
to him, responding to his emotions, his energy.
The leader quickly signaled a retreat.
"This is not the time," he said. "The child is strong, and
the ruins hold many secrets. We will return."
The hunters vanished into the forest like shadows.
Rudra stood up, breathing heavily. His heart raced, and the
Void Core pulsed with energy.
For the first time, he felt not just power, but
responsibility.
A New Beginning
Rudra looked at the ruins around him. He realized something.
The world was not the quiet village he had lived in.
The mountains were not just mountains.
The forests were not just forests.
Everything was a test, a challenge, a path.
And far away, someone was already plotting, already
watching, already preparing for the moment Rudra would become strong enough to
threaten their plans.
Rudra clenched his fists.
"I will grow stronger. I will protect those I care about.
And I will survive."
He turned back toward the village, but his mind was already
in the mountains.
This was only the beginning.
