The game kept delivering one surprise after another to the players.
First came such a massive and realistic scene, and now the game had even introduced an AI system?
Jenny quickly looked down at her arm and sure enough, she spotted a black bracelet fastened perfectly around her right wrist.
The bracelet fit snugly against her skin, entirely black with a sleek, flawless finish. Complex patterns covered its surface, and faint glowing lights could be seen flickering inside.
"It really is there." Jenny couldn't help but exclaim. "This is way too high-tech."
The viewers were stunned as well:
[As expected of a future world. Has intelligent AI become this widespread already?!]
[Hearing that the AI is called Lily and it's American tech makes me feel a weird little surge of pride. What's up with that?]
[The fucking devs really knows what's up by setting the background in our country!]
[Twenty-fifth century, so five hundred years from now? Technology five hundred years ahead should definitely be able to reach this level!]
"Detecting possible brain damage in the user. Beginning self-diagnostic scan." At this moment, as if it had heard Jenny's words, Gaia spoke up again.
The bracelet instantly emitted a purple glow that swept rapidly over Jenny's body.
"Mild concussion detected. Aside from that, the user's body is in perfect health. The brief memory lapse appears to be a symptom caused by shock. Please do not worry."
"Uh, I didn't lose my memory. I time-traveled." Jenny felt a bit speechless. She subconsciously wanted to explain to Gaia that she was a time-traveler.
But she quickly realized how ridiculous that sounded. She was inside a game!
Holy crap, everything around her felt so real that she had actually started to get confused.
"To ensure the user's survival, please check inside the escape pod for any usable supplies."
"At the same time, please pay attention to the lower-right corner of your vision. That represents your current physical condition." Gaia added.
Jenny immediately looked toward the lower-right corner of her view and sure enough found four status bars there.
They represented health, hunger, hydration, and oxygen levels respectively.
Only now did Jenny finally feel like she was actually playing a game.
She obediently stopped lingering on the scenery outside and returned to the pod.
After searching around, Jenny found a small knife, a flashlight, a backpack, and a complete diving suit inside a storage cabinet. Nothing else was there.
"Unfortunately, there is no food or water." Gaia voice came through. "For the sake of survival, I suggest the user go into the sea to catch fish."
"Go into the sea?!" Jenny shouted out loud. "Are you serious!"
Although she had already known in advance that this was an underwater game, being told to head into the ocean right at the start still made Jenny's scalp tingle with unease.
Because the game felt far too realistic. Entering the sea would be no different from doing it in real life.
And there was one more thing.
"I don't know how to swim." Jenny said worriedly. She had been a landlubber her whole life and had never learned to swim, let alone dive underwater!
"The user does not need to worry. I will guide you on how to perform underwater swimming." Yet Gaia continued in a calm tone. "For the sake of your own life safety, please take action now."
Both Jenny and the viewers were stunned by these words. This Gaia A.I seemed pretty advanced, capable of even teaching humans how to swim?
"Fine, I'll give it a try!" She could only grit her teeth and agree.
Jenny put on the diving suit, fastened the diving helmet, and opened the hatch at the bottom of the escape pod.
Staring at the incredibly blue seawater, she took a deep breath and jumped in.
Splash!
The motion-sensing suit's capabilities were perfectly utilized by the game. Jenny instantly felt her body completely enveloped by seawater. Gentle waves brushed against her skin, bringing a soft and delicate sensation.
The water temperature was warmer than she had imagined.
In her field of vision were layers of dark reef formations covered in colorful mushrooms and seaweed.
Around Jenny, various oddly shaped small fish she couldn't name swam about.
[Holy crap, the seabed is so beautiful!]
[Damn, I feel like I'm watching a nature documentary!]
[Look at that mushroom, it's purple!]
[And that fish looks like a flying saucer!]
The water friends all cried out in amazement. The scene in the video looked almost identical to Earth's oceans, except for the plants and animals living in the sea, which they had never seen before.
"The user's luck is quite good. Your current location happens to be a shallow reef area."
Gaia's voice came through. "Shallow reef zones contain many small fish species and have a lower probability of encountering large predatory fish."
But Jenny, submerged in the sea, didn't respond at all. She didn't even have the mind to appreciate the beautiful scenery around her.
She was desperately holding her breath, her face turning red. Her arms and legs flailed about wildly as her whole body sank rapidly.
Seeing Jenny like this, the viewers also realized something was wrong.
[Jenny, Jenny, breathe! This is a game. You can breathe!]
[That's right. Not only can you breathe, you can even talk!]
[Jenny, snap out of it!]
