Chapter 51 - Chapter 44 ~ Rehearsal Dinner

Jay's pov

Time is a weird thing you know. One day you're counting down to the biggest day of your life and the next second it's like you're sitting in your room the night before.

Well that? Was me. Right now.

I stood in front of the floor length mirror. A simple white sundress hung from my shoulders.

The soft cotton clung to my waist.

The knoted bows on my shoulders were the only thing that kept this from falling to the floor.

Freya had done some lighr makeup. Ella had gently curled my hair hours ago. Now it looked like tiny waves.

The heels on my feet were not the six inch ones that girls usually wear.

Mine were four. Becoming the best friend of Freya Hidalgo came with its pros and cons.

I took a deep breath. Soon I would be out there walking down that isle to my future as a practice.

Tomorrow I would be doing it for real.

Soon the car arrived to take be to the hall.

Outside there were small bunches of babies breath. (A/N it is a type of flower)

The railing was wrapped in white ribbons.

An elegant chandelier hung in the entry way.

The light reflected of the crystal. Adding little coloured shaped shadows to the walls.

I walked up to the grand mahogany doors. The outside of the hall was quiet, peaceful.

Inside I could hear the usual banter of section e. The loud arguments of Keigan and Keiran.

The hushed whispers of the guests.

The music started to play. All the girls lined up in their order.

Soon the grand doors swung open, and they walked out onto the isle one by one.

The last girl to walk out was Ella. She was my Maid of Honour.

Yes we had our differences and we didn't get on well.

But after learning her story properly. I felt bad. She was forced into a relationship she didn't want.

In some ways our story was similar.

But all in all I am happy that she is happy now.

Yes she DID love Yuri. But I realised that changed after we realised what he really wanted.

People change and you can't blame them. But what you can do is move away if it hurts you.

Soon the music changed.

Slower.

That's when I knew.

It's my turn.

I stood there behind the now closed doors.

My heart pulsed in my chest like a hammer rapidly pounding against my ribs.

The doors opened.

The isle was beautifuly decorated when white lilys.

The cream carpet stood out just enough to make a statement. But not enough to look out of place.

The guests stood from their seats.

Business partners.

Far off family.

Old friends.

And obviously.

The people we called family now.

People in the Fernandez house.

Keifer's brothers.

Section e.

Everyone.

I kept walking.

My steps slow.

Elegant.

Graceful.

The sound of my heals muffled by the carpet beneath me.

The light was dim.

The air was warm.

But none of that mattered.

What mattered was the man i was walking to.

Keifer.

The man I love.

The man I call home.

The man I trust with everything.

When I reached the end, Keifer held out his hand.

And as I placed mine in his I felt him squeeze slightly.

As if asking without words

You okay?

I squeezed back.

Giving my answer.

We stood there. Facing eachother.

The music died down.

——

Keifer's pov

The vows were done. The food was gone.

We were back in our room.

Well at least Jay was. I was kicked out by the girls.

Their excuse was: The groom shouldn't see the bride for at least 24 hours before the ceremony! Otherwise they don't have a happy marriage!

We all knew this was an old myth. But fhere is no point in arguing with the girls.

In the end. No mayter which man it is. If it is someone who respects girls. Which is like the only why I would call them a man. They will always end up bowing down to girls.

In the end. We all know. Women have more power.

I couldn't sleep. I kept tossing and turning in the guest bed.

I missed my bed. The soft mattress. The silk sheets.

——

Author's pov

According to Keifer he missed his bed. But we all know who he actually missed.

…

…

…

Jay!

He missed the soft dip in the mattress beside him every time she got in.

He missed a warmth against his chest.

He missed having her back practically glued to his front.

He missed her scent. The sweet lavender running up hos nose.

He missed every single detail.

But the problem was. The girls were in Jay's room. All sleeping around her.

There was no way Keifer would be able to make it into the room.

Making it into the room was far away actually. If he walked in the hallway it would be a miracle.
