Chapter 65 - Not a trace

[Gift from beyond the veil, 1x Random Gold Ticket] (Captain_Annoying)

I rolled the ticket as I ate my lunch.

[Spinning, spinning, spinning, done!]

[Shadow Eyes]

|Rare Ability|

Allows you to conjure small eye-shaped shadow familiars that can act autonomously and observe targets; they possess no combat ability but have potent hiding abilities. They can also relay the information they observe to their conjurer.

Useless for now, since Viltrumite senses were crazy.

Finishing my lunch, I shot into the air as I hunted more villains, following the cold trail that the HPSC had laid out for me as I hunted villains across Japan.

It was about mid-January now. I'd been hunting AFO for almost a month. I hadn't been back to U.A other than to visit Sasha once a week and the Christmas party, which was nice.

Other than that, I'd been busy clearing out villain strongholds across the country. Some had sprung up after All Might retired; others had been sitting around for decades, too dug in for the HPSC to deal with cleanly.

They were more than happy to point me at them, and it gave me plenty of time to hunt for clues about AFO. Nine and his crew also helped me plenty. Nine wasn't too happy to find out he'd been a potential backup body for AFO.

On my own, I could probably destroy all the hidden bases, but Nine certainly sped things along. The first two bases I cleared ended in massacres, but once the HPSC started complaining, I dialed it back; Nine helped since his team had an incentive to save lives.

We weren't alone either. Pearl, Lust, and Entoma Zeta had joined us. Pearl was simply around to patch up the others after difficult fights, with Lust and Entoma helping collect clues and information.

Despite their help, I wasn't any closer to finding AFO. I'd checked most of the country already as well. I'd made a point to hover over the empty streets of Deika City several times now, but it seems AFO has already absorbed them.

I'm guessing that is where new Nomu and general soldiers would be coming from going forward. I've also started looking for villas hidden in the mountains, since I can't remember where the actual one was in canon.

The other thing annoying me was the constant harassment. Media and civvies I could deal with just fine, didn't even bother me when no-name heroes made comments about me. The constant assassinations? Intolerable!

Three times I've been targeted, as have Nine and his crew. Each time the would-be assassin was strung up by their spine, but it seems they didn't get the message. One thing to note about these assassins, however, they were cyborgs.

Yes, they used their quirks and guns to try and deal with me, but more than one charged me with what looked a lot like Gorilla Arms. I would've been more surprised if Sasha hadn't told me her mom was from NC. So I was expecting it eventually.

As Pearl called in the newest cleared villain base, I rose into the air and pushed Six Eyes to the max as I scanned the remains of the base for any clues, and as usual found nothing. I guess AFO knew a thing or two about hiding like the roach he was.

I didn't bother speaking to Hawks, despite him being my go between with the HPSC. I still remained far removed from their political games since I was only out to kill AFO once and for all.

Feeling bored I called Sasha, simply enjoying the sound of her voice as she told me about her day. I eventually had to let her go when Nezu called me, probably with another lead.

"Sup Nezu, what do you have for me this time?"

"Something new actually, it ties in to Wolfram."

"The merc from I-Island right? What's he got to do with this?"

Nezu sent me a file that I read over as he explained.

"Wolfram seems to have worked with AFO multiple times before his attack at I-Island. It seems like AFO had him stealing people and heroes from other countries to bring to him so he could steal their quirks."

"Let me guess, people are going missing again?"

"Not only that, Wolfram has somehow escaped from Tartarus."

That got my attention. Tartarus was known as one of the most secure prisons in the world, even with the mess Alcatraz was nowadays. For Wolfram to escape from there meant that AFO was involved.

"In the file I sent, there is a list of recent sightings across Europe and the U.A. Maybe following Wolfram will lead you back to AFO, even if it doesn't, you should at least find clues to his whereabouts."

I thanked Nezu for the info as the others gathered around me. I sent them the info as well as I called Mei to see if my commission was finished. Of course, rather than answer like a normal person she started bombarding me with technical jargon, before complaining about the power source.

Good thing I had that Arc Reactor.

-----------

The second we returned to U.A, Mei was dragging us towards her workshop as she bombarded us with more words. I was so happy to see Sasha, since she gave me a most welcome distraction from Mei.

I held her hand as we descended into Mei's personal lab, one Nezu set up at my insistence, where Mei could work on anything sensitive, and were most of my things were kept nowadays.

"Do you have it? I really wanna see it work already, this baby needs POWER!" Mei was practically vibrating as I gazed upon the heavily modified ship Mei had been working on. I had finally put that vehicle voucher to good use.

The base of the ship was the Aquarius Galaxy Superyacht. That was were things changed.

Since I'd given Nezu plenty of Fallout schematics to play around with, this ship wouldn't need staff or crew, it would be run by Mr. Handy and Assaultrons. Held nearly a dozen guest rooms along with the Master Bedroom.

The best part? The sensor suite personally designed by Nezu, me, and Mei working in tandem for a month. Not to mention the flight systems they'd built into the ship that would let it reach a pretty insane speed.

All it needed now, was power. I let Mei have fun putting the Arc Reactor in it's position as the Gacha pinged.

[Large gift from beyond the veil, 1x Random Platinum Ticket!] (Shibou_Kurai gave power stones every day for a week, enjoy!)

Huh, that was new. I guess whatever creepy ROB watching me is happy? Your welcome?

[Level Up!]

|Elite Ability|

Whenever you kill something, you absorb 10% of their stats and permanently add it to your own, such a simple ability with promises of so much power.

I grinned as I read over the new ability I had. I would be making plenty of use out of this once I found where AFO was hiding. Not to mention the army of Manticore's I had right now, they would be very useful indeed.

A/N- Sorry this took a while
