Chapter 833: Assimilator, The Star Cup's all-powerful Power, The all-powerful God
Luo Hao's delicate brows drew together, forming a slight crease on her flawless forehead.
"Chaotic Doomsday?"
Her gaze lingered on the glowing holographic interface suspended in her vision. Her own name had just been highlighted in the selection pool. The Doomsday Companion feature, an event recently detailed in the Chat Group's announcements, required members to traverse into an Otherworld to resolve an apocalyptic crisis.
Her eyes narrowed, gleaming with a sharp, calculating light. This was the perfect opportunity. Even after absorbing a wealth of information and witnessing countless impossible phenomena through the interface, the martial arts sovereign still harbored a sliver of doubt regarding the Chat Group's true nature. She needed to witness this Otherworld with her own eyes. It was a decision born entirely of absolute confidence in her peerless strength.
[Luo Hao: How do I go to the Otherworld?]
[Ren: In fact, this Doomsday has a high degree of instability. There are too many unknown elements at play right now, so I do not recommend any of you coming over.]
[Tsunade: Since that is the case, I will not go and cause unnecessary trouble.]
[Erza: Mm, I will not hold you back either, Ren.]
[Ren: Luo Hao, your reaction speed is truly something else.]
[March 7th: What is wrong?]
[Ren: She is already here.]
[Furina:?]
Luo Hao blinked, her vision adjusting as the spatial transfer completed. She found herself staring directly at the laid-back young man standing a few paces away.
Almost instantly, the atmosphere in the room shifted. Dozens of sharp, predatory gazes snapped toward her, locking onto her sudden appearance.
"Did you not see the message I just sent?" Ren asked, the corners of his mouth twitching upward in a half-smile. He actually wanted to laugh at her sheer impatience.
"I saw it." Luo Hao stood tall, her exquisite qipao accentuating her graceful yet imposing figure. She crossed her arms beneath her chest, her chin raised as she swept an imperious glance over her new surroundings. "But it was too late."
A faint, haughty smile graced her lips. "This is the Otherworld... interesting."
"Brother Ren, who is she?" Couronne stepped closer to Ren, her eyes scanning the newcomer. She could not quite discern the woman's race. The stranger radiated an aura of absolute authority and confidence that far surpassed any ordinary human.
"Do not worry about it," Ren replied casually, waving a hand. "Her name is Luo Hao. She came here from another world."
"Another world?"
Think, Jibril, and Azriel narrowed their eyes simultaneously. As apex beings of their respective races, they fully grasped the implications of those words. Their innate curiosity regarding an extraterrestrial lifeform flared, prompting them to instinctively leak a fraction of their magical energy to probe the newcomer's strength.
Luo Hao's expression instantly turned freezing cold. Her martial aura flared, clashing against their invisible pressure. "Do you want to fight?"
"Do not mess around," Ren interjected, his voice calm but carrying a heavy weight that grounded the rising tension. "This world is on the brink of disaster. Now is not the time for you all to fool around."
Just as his words settled the room, a synthetic, slightly panicked voice broke the silence.
"Brother... my... body?"
Shuvi stared down at her hands. Something was terribly wrong. An invisible, overwhelming force was stretching her physical form, superimposing her existence over itself and creating violent, flickering layers of afterimages. The Ex-Machina looked as though she were being torn across different dimensional planes.
Ren's brow furrowed. He closed the distance in a single step and clamped his hand firmly onto her small shoulder.
The chaotic afterimages instantly snapped back into place, stabilizing her existence.
"Are you attacking my people the moment you arrive?" he murmured, his eyes tracking an invisible current of energy flowing through the air.
He quickly realized this was not the work of the chaotic doomsday factor. It was the Star Cup. The true Star Cup.
The ultimate container of all-powerful power, formed from an accidentally dropped fragment containing the raw essence of the universe's creation, was actively doing something incredibly bizarre. It was attempting to forcibly erase Shuvi's current existence and drag her consciousness across the river of time.
Specifically, it was trying to pull her six thousand years into the future.
Ren found the exact temporal destination fascinating. That specific point in the future was meant to host a human girl who bore a striking resemblance to Shuvi.
Her name was Shiro.
"Changing time? Repairing the world's timeline?" Ren let out a low, dry chuckle. "The all-powerful power of the Star Cup... is it actually afraid?"
The artifact possessed a rudimentary will and had mistakenly identified Shuvi's anomalous presence as the source of the impending calamity. It was desperately trying to force the timeline back onto its proper, predetermined tracks.
But as for the real calamity?
It was already making its move against the Star Cup itself.
At the absolute edge of the universe, suspended in the void, a colossal sapphire radiated boundless cosmic energy.
A solitary figure materialized before the massive gem.
"Hahaha! I have lurked in the shadows for so long, and I have finally waited for this exact opportunity!"
The man licked his lips, his eyes—swirling with chaotic, multicolored pupils—brimming with naked greed.
He was an Assimilator. A bizarre entity devoid of true life or a physical body. The terrifying power bestowed upon him by a Great Existence was simply called 'Assimilation'. He possessed the absolute ability to absorb and become any lifeform, any power, and any object.
His ultimate mission was to infiltrate a target world, assimilate a core member of its reality, seize control of the world's foundational source, and offer that power up to the Great Existence.
Upon arriving in this universe, he had initially taken the form of the God Race—an Old Deus. He had never truly revealed his presence to the world at large. He could have easily assimilated Artosh, the absolute strongest God of War in this realm.
But the Assimilator chose not to.
Through his hidden observations, he had learned the ultimate secret of this universe: the existence of the Star Cup, the true core of creation, and the concept of the Divine Marrow.
He had no interest in a mere God of War. His sole target was the Star Cup itself, an artifact that could be considered the all-powerful Divine Marrow of the entire universe. As long as it was a Divine Marrow, his assimilation would work. Once he absorbed it, he would become an all-powerful god.
However, his time was severely limited. The terrifying ability granted by the Great Existence came with a steep price.
Time itself.
His total lifespan, from the moment of his birth to his arrival and eventual death, was restricted to exactly three standard cosmic days. In the timeframe of this specific universe, that equated to a mere three years.
The only way to extend his life was to assimilate other existences and steal their true vitality.
After arriving and setting his sights on his grand goal, he had spent his entire lifespan lurking in the darkest, most unobservable corners of reality, remaining in an unassimilated, formless state.
Waiting. Waiting for the exact fraction of a second the Star Cup revealed its physical traces.
That moment was right now.
He did not know what external factor had caused the Star Cup to suddenly expose its location, but he did not care. He had followed the scent of its power straight to the edge of the universe.
Sensing the intruder, the Star Cup reacted. A brilliant blue barrier erupted around the massive sapphire, using its all-powerful authority to completely lock down the surrounding space and prevent his approach.
It was a futile effort.
The Assimilator possessed no life and no physical form. Beyond his conceptual ability to assimilate, he was essentially nothingness. There was no physical or magical force in existence that could block a concept that did not technically exist.
He drifted right through the absolute barrier without a single hindrance, floating directly up to the surface of the Star Cup.
"Hahahaha!"
His featureless face twisted into an expression of wild, unhinged ecstasy. He threw his arms wide open, embracing the massive gem.
"I have finally succeeded!" he roared into the void. "Oh, great Overlord of Transcendence! I will surely offer the power to create this universe to you!"
Assimilation, activate.
The Assimilator's body instantly dissolved into a swirling ball of chaotic light, sinking directly into the solid surface of the Star Cup.
For a fraction of a second, the universe held its breath.
Then, the radiant light of the sapphire trembled violently.
Deep, jagged cracks fractured the surface of the Star Cup, sounding like the snapping of a colossal eggshell. The fissures spread at a terrifying speed, forming a massive, glowing spiderweb across the gem's facets.
With a silent, cosmic shockwave, the Star Cup shattered into countless fragments.
But from its destruction, a new life was born.
"So this is the power of omnipresence..."
A soft, echoing murmur drifted through the void.
At the exact center of the shattered artifact, a new humanoid figure slowly stood up. His entire body appeared to be composed of swirling, chaotic stardust, a living galaxy compressed into the shape of a man.
He slowly raised his hands, flexing his fingers. He could feel the very fabric of reality bending to his will. He was grasping the absolute lifeline of the universe. At this exact moment, all of creation had become his personal toy.
A wide, arrogant grin split his stardust face.
"I am the all-powerful God!"
"all-powerful?"
A calm, thoroughly unimpressed voice echoed right behind him. "Heh. Oh great all-powerful God, do you know what I am thinking right now?"
A sneer?
The Assimilator whipped his chaotic body around, the stardust swirling violently. He found a human young man floating casually in the void, looking at him with an expression of mild, detached amusement.
Originally, Ren had been slightly concerned about just how terrifying this so-called 'Chaotic Doomsday' might turn out to be. He had prepared himself for a complex, multi-layered disaster.
But after quietly observing the assimilation process between this bizarre entity and the Star Cup, all of his worries vanished. He felt completely relaxed.
This guy had just absorbed the core of the universe. He was undeniably strong now.
That was a fact.
But Ren was not worried in the slightest.
Because he was a billion times stronger than him.
