"Lucious is pressing charges," Theon said as he walked into Vael's office. He dropped a paper on the desk and then began to pace.
Vael watched him for a breath, then another, before his gaze dropped to the paper. He took it and read through the content.
Lawsuit. Assault. Julio. Lucious.
"He filed this morning. I had one of my people pull it before it hit the council's formal docket."
Vael scoffed. "He's so predictable."
"Predictable? Who files a lawsuit against their own family?"
"Lucious Vaeroth," Vael replied.
Theon stopped pacing and planted both hands on the back of the leather chair across from Vael's desk. His knuckles went white against the dark material.
"If he pushes through with this—" A sharp exhale. "The wedding. The pending projects. Everything we've been building is gonna get affected."
"Stay calm, Theon."
