Susan's eyes glanced through the file on the screen of the laptop, her fingers scrolling. Mia sat beside her on the bed, cross-legged and listening to Vessara rattle on about her plans for the upcoming Moon Festival.
"I want it to be the best Nightwalkers have ever experienced. What do you think?"
Susan nodded slowly, her fingers still clicking and scrolling past images. "This looks good. I can already picture what the decorations would be like."
"But what about the food stalls? There would be a need to position them where the pack members can gather without crowding the ceremonial space." Mia said.
"I have also thought about it. Sheila suggested she would come up with something." Vessara replied.
"How about getting tables wide enough and maybe…canopies," Susan suggested.
Vessara's eyes lit up. "That's perfect. And we could string the fairy lights through—"
The door burst open with such force that it crashed against the interior wall.
Vessara's heart seized mid-beat.
