Chapter 4 - Chapter 4- The Awakening begins

Ava trudged downstairs, her feet quiet on the worn steps. The scent of scrambled eggs and toast wafted up, making her stomach grumble. She slid into her usual seat at the kitchen table, trying to shake off the lingering drowsiness.

Lena smiled, handing her a plate piled high with breakfast. "Morning, love. Sleep okay?"

Ava nodded, digging in. The eggs were perfect – fluffy and seasoned just right. "Mum, about last night..."

Lena's expression turned serious, but her eyes still sparkled with a hint of excitement. "Yeah? What about it?"

Ava hesitated, her mind racing with questions. "How do we start? I mean, how do I learn to control this?"

Lena leaned back, cripping her cup of tea. "Well, first we need to understand your powers. You've got all four elements, which is... rare. Most people get one, maybe two. You got the whole package."

Ava's eyes widened as she listened, her food forgotten. "What does it mean?"

Lena's face grew thoughtful. "It means you've got potential, Ava. Big potential. But it also means you've got a lot to learn. We'll start with basics – grounding, focusing, and learning to call the elements."

Ava nodded, her mind racing. "Like, how do I call the wind?"

Lena smiled, a hint of mischief in her eyes. "Want to try?"

Ava nodded eagerly, and Lena led her to the back garden. The morning sun cast a warm glow over the dewy grass, and Ava felt a sense of peace wash over her.

"Okay, first, breathe," Lena instructed. "Feel the air around you. Connect with it."

Ava closed her eyes, trying to focus. At first, nothing happened. Then, a tiny breeze rustled her hair.

"Good!" Lena said. "Now, try to direct it. Imagine you're pushing the air with your mind."

Ava concentrated, feeling silly, but suddenly a small gust swept through the garden, rustling leaves and petals.

Lena laughed. "You're a natural!"

Ava spent the next hour practicing her air skills – creating whirlwinds, gentle breezes, and even making leaves dance in the air.

Next, Lena showed her how to conjure water from a puddle, and Ava managed to create a small wave. She also learned to manipulate the water's shape, making it form tiny sculptures.

Ava's eyes sparkled as she played with the water. "This is so cool!"

Lena smiled. "You're picking it up fast. Now try fire."

Ava focused on a small twig on the ground. With a bit of concentration, she made a tiny flame spark to life. She learned to control the flame's size and color, making it dance like a mini firework.

As they took a break, Ava turned to Lena. "What about earth?"

Lena nodded. "Want to try controlling the plants?"

Ava's eyes lit up. She focused on a nearby sapling, and to her surprise, the tree began to sway and its leaves rustled wildly. She made flowers bloom faster, and even coaxed a stubborn seedling out of the ground.

Lena beamed with pride. "Ava, you're amazing with plants!"

The morning flew by, with Ava mastering new skills for each element. She felt powerful and connected to the world around her.

As they headed back in for lunch, Ava's phone buzzed in her pocket. She pulled it out – a message from her best friend, Jax.

Hey, wanna meet up at the mall today?

Ava hesitated, looking at Lena.

Lena nodded. "Go have fun, Ava. You've got this."

Ava smiled, typing out a reply. Sounds like a plan!

As she changed into fresh clothes, Ava felt a thrill of excitement. She was about to start a new chapter – literally and figuratively.

Lena handed her a small pouch as she headed out. "Here, take this."

Ava opened it, revealing a tiny crystal nestled inside. "What's this?"

Lena smiled. "A grounding stone. Helps focus your energy. Keep it with you."

Ava tucked the pouch into her bag, feeling a sense of gratitude. She wasn't alone in this journey.

The mall was bustling, with shoppers and street vendors everywhere. Ava spotted Jax by the food court, his bright smile a welcome sight.

"Dude, what's up?"Jax asked, as Ava slid into into her seat.

Ava grinned, feeling a secret thrill." Just... stuff. You know."

Jax raised an eyebrow. "Spill it."

Ava laughed, leaning in. "Let's just say I'm figuring some things out."

Jax's eyes lit up. "Ooh,mysterious. Okay, I'll wait."

Ava rolled her eyes, playfully pushing him. "Shut up."

As they grabbed lunch and wandered through shops, Ava couldn't shake the feeling that her life was about to change- big time.

The afternoon flew by, with laughter and jokes, but Ava's mind kept drifting back to her powers. What would happen next?

As they said goodbye, Jax said to her, his expression serious for a moment. "Hey Ava? You seem... different. Good different."

Ava smiled, feeling a sense of wonder. "Yeah, I think I am."

Ava headed home, the evening air cool on her face. She felt a sense of anticipation, like she was standing standing on the edge of something huge.

Lena looked up as Ava walked in, a knowing smile on her face. "How was it?"

Ava shrugged, feeling a grin spread across her face. "Good. Jax says I'm different."

Lena laughed. "You're growing, Ava. That's what matters."

As they settled in for dinner, Ava felt a sense of peace settle over her. She was on a journey, and she wasn't alone.

The night drew in, with stars twinkling outside. Ava felt a sense of excitement, wondering what tomorrow would bring.
