The next day.
The fox cave had never felt this cold before. Even the servants walking around looked pale and frightened, moving quietly as if one wrong sound would bring disaster upon everyone. The cheerful atmosphere from the barbecue the previous night had vanished. Fear now sat inside every corner of the cave like invisible smoke.
CeCe still had not woken up!!
The healers remained inside her room since dawn while maids carried bowls of herbs and warm water in and out nervously. The smell of blood still lingered faintly in the air despite how much they cleaned the room.
And the worst part was that Lord Zenobius had just woken up!
Emily stood near the entrance of CeCe's room with folded arms while watching the chaos around her. She blamed herself for leaving CeCe alone.
"My gosh…" Emily muttered tiredly. "This place seriously needs therapy."
A maid nearby almost burst into tears. "Lady Emily, please lower your voice…"
