CeCe stopped walking immediately after hearing Nicholas's voice behind her.
The irritation on her face deepened as she turned around with the basket still hanging from her hand aggressively like she wanted to throw the whole thing at his face.
"What now?"
Nicholas remained standing where he was, tall and arrogant like some ancient war god that had never apologised a day in his life. His golden eyes moved from her face to the barbecue once again.
"What is barbecue?"
CeCe blinked at him, she genuinely wondered if she should laugh or cry. "You insulted it before asking what it was?"
Nicholas crossed his arms without shame. "Answer the question."
CeCe sucked in a breath dramatically. "You know what? Fine."
She marched back toward the stone table angrily, dropped the basket on it, and removed the cloth covering the roasted meat. The aroma exploded into the room again immediately.
