Chapter 32 - The Club Room.

School days have never been busy. Not with studying but with extra activities. To the point we even applied for a club.

With Gino's help.

How he did it?

He charmed the club professor with his smiles and playboy persona.

But he isn't one.

And we applied for paranormal investigatory club.

Was it accepted? Yes ...

If this was the real world, we will be marked as crazy people.

We even have our club room. But the location was also paranormal.

Why would we be even given the unused, abandoned, beside the gym room.

Isolated from anything else.

And it was Gino's suggestion. Claiming, that, a club like ours needs some haunting.

I'd like to smack him but I couldn't. Since he was the one who worked for it.

We checked the room, and it was full of webs, dust, and scattered documents.

For days, we didn't do any investigation and just did some cleaning.

To my surprise, Gino was a big deal. Totally.

He called in some servants from his home, and helped with the cleaning. Even decorated it with some fancy wallpapers, maintaining gray, white and black aesthetics.

Can you believe this guy?

He even paid for renovation. Adding a little kitchen and mini bar...but no alcohol since it's University premises.

It's for coffee and other drinks.

And two weeks in?

It finally done. With a proper sign at that.

And the room became bigger when it was now fully functional. A computer for our stations. And a paranormal item corner.

Gino was making up for his lack of third eye, or sixth sense...

And bought stuffs.

He would use it when we're heading towards locations we would investigate.

But our main priority was....

The University.

The Vengeful spirit was already getting known throughout the campus.

Not just in the engineering building, but now seen somewhere else.

We sat in our chairs at the middle of the room, out little conference table and took out all information we've gathered.

"I've talked with other girls who'd seen the white lady...." Sarah started but I cut her off.

"Vengeful spirit...we classify them accordingly, since we're already a club, and a functioning paranormal team, we should be accurate with our description." I said, and the two of them stared at me.

"Alright, spill it. This classification." Gino sai, taking out his laptop.

"Write it on your notebook. A handy one. You can't just pull out your laptop whenever we're actually in a situation you need to categorize something."

I took out my own notebook and started jutting out things.

"Right...we do manual." Gino took out his own and started listening.

"I'm not categorizing everything. We do it per case and compile it. And we currently have the Vengeful spirit as our first team task."

Sarah, was also now taking out her own notebook, and nodded.

"Listen up, Vengeful spirits are ghosts, souls, spirits, who's already on the verge of elimination. We can still cleanse them. But it'll be hard. Since they hold a grudge so deep that they've lost their essence of their soul's humanity."

I started detailing out things, of course, courtesy of my system.

Which gave me points and achievements when the club was built.

It also started giving out features like Team Buff, and unlocked new skills.

The club wasn't just something Gino did by impulse, it had become a beacon, our stronghold, for features to be used with its existence.

Well, they don't know that.

"So, one thing to remember. Vengeful spirits can hurt us. Indirectly." I continued.

That's when Sarah's expression shifted.

"They can hurt us? So those accidents reported that happened from the female bathroom wasn't a coincidence. It was the vengeful spirit's doing?"

I stopped writing and looked at her with a worried expression.

"There's....been accidents already?"

[VENGEFUL SPIRIT IS ALMOST REACHING THE NEXT PHASE. VICIOUS SPIRIT CATEGORY UNLOCKED.]

[ONCE THE SPIRIT REACH THIS CATEGORY, THEY CAN HURT HUMANS DIRECTLY. AND THEY'RE BEYOND CLEANSING. BUT ELIMINATION IS NEEDED TO STOP THEM.]

I paused staring at the blue screen, and gasped.

Gino and Sarah noticed me looking slightly pale, with cold sweat.

I was staring into something they couldn't make out and misunderstood it.

Thought I was seeing some entity that Sarah wasn't able to see.

"Hey, Anthony. You okay dude?" Gino went to the mini bar, and poured me a cold glass of water. "Here, drink this."

I accepted it and took a sip.

Little did they know... I went pale because I'm freaking out.

A vicious spirit can physically hurt us? Crap.

Crap...

That's something else. My body started trembling...

I was spiraling....

"Idiot! You're reacting like that again." Millien's voice snapped me back.

Right... He was always with me now after confirming there's no ghost eater at out home. And I bought a holy crucifix, and put it in front of the door.

To ward off whatever was lurking around my home.

I took deeper breaths and composed myself.

"You've already beaten and eliminated a demon. It's the most wicked and cruelest of all. It posseses humans. So, don't be scared." Millien added.

And somehow, that made me feel better.

I totally forgot about it. That's true. The tutorial mode made me fight a demon. The monthly check, made me fight, tiyanaks.

I can do this. I need to not let my fear lead me. And also, I have friends I'm working this task together with.

This is different now.

I relaxed and look at them again.

Sarah and Gino, my team.

"Things have changed. The Vengeful spirit...is no longer vengeful, but vicious. They can physically harm us. Directly. That's the difference between the two. Remember, vengeful is indirect, while vicious is direct." I said firmly.

"How do you always know things?" Sarah asked.

She's quite observant.

"I.."

"Oh is that one of those talk with other entities you speak of? That's why you're so knowledgeable?" Gino cut me off.

And I was thankful for it.

"Yeah. As you can see, I have this little friend always with me. Sarah can see him." I pointed on my shoulder. "He tells me things."

Millien just glared at me.

Sorry, Millien. You're the greatest alibi I can do.
