Chapter 16 - Most perfect subjects

The crowd of students made way.

By now everyone around the school knew who those two are.

After all, word spread fast especially when its related to the Hundred Family's.

With the crowd making way, the two quickly reached Kai.

The yellow-haired youth snapped, "didn't I tell you to stay away from the princess?"

Where did this snot-nosed brat get all that confidence from? Ryker chuckled, he found it strange that this boy was clearly afraid of Kai but still messed with him.

Maybe it's the crowd. Kai replied while looking him up and down.

"That same attitude..." The yellow-haired youth felt like things were repeating.

Just like this morning Kai remained silent while observing him. The yellow-haired youth felt an insane heat rising to his head as he was barely able to keep his anger in check.

The light-blonde hair girl saw this as well and spoke to Abigail.

"Princess, you shouldn't be staying so close to ignorant people, they can influence you to be just like them..."

Abigail face became blank.

"Who are you to tell me what to do?" With cold, piercing eyes, she asked.

Her eyes were like a demoness: cold, daring, cunning.

The two Maxfield students were quickly taken aback.

They didn't expect the person they call 'princess' to switch up like that.

At one moment she had a cheerful, teasing smile and at the next she became something unfamiliar.

Even Kai was shocked, but also curious.

Now I want to know who she truly is.

"Princess—" The yellow-haired youth wanted to say more but was cut off by Abigail's command.

"Move."

She exclaimed, not even looking at them before grabbing hold of Kai by the hand.

She walked away with him.

Just before leaving, Kai looked back at the two to see them giving him a look that made him smile inside.

Fine, I will play with you two.

The two didn't go to the lunch area, but a classroom that was empty.

They sat across each other as Abigail went back to her usual self.

"Dig in!" She said, her eyes shining like diamonds as she hand him a lunchbox.

Kai didn't stand on ceremony as he took the lunch and started eating.

They sat and ate in total silence.

The food was good. Kai nodded five minutes later with an expression as if wanting more.

He placed the lunch box down and Abigail put it away.

Watching her like this gave Kai a peace of mind.

She's much more beautiful with her mouth shut. He thought.

And she give off the vibe of an perfect house wife! You cannot let her escape your grasp! Ryker added in.

Shut up.

Once she put away the lunch boxes she stared at Kai and questioned.

"Aren't you going to ask me anything?"

"I figured it would be best if I don't." He said.

I already plan to get into the school's network and find out.

"Well I am going to tell you anyways!"

"I honestly don't need to know."

"But I want you to know!"

Kai realizing he wasn't going to win against her sighed.

"Fine."

Seeing she won, Abigail giggled as she began her story.

"I am actually the first daughter of the Lee Family!"

She continued, "I am sure you know them. Mixed Asians who have heavy influence in China and The States."

"They are ranked #20 in the Hundred Family's!"

Kai put on a shocked look and asked, "and what does that have to do with me?"

"It have everything to do with you!" She knocked her feet on the ground with puffed cheeks.

She then said, "you're my chosen hero! You need to save me from this hell known as arranged marriage!"

Kai shocked expression deepen.

"You expect a little Flemings ranked #121 not even in the Hundred Family's to touch the mighty Maxfield Family?"

"You catch on quick." Pleased, she smiled.

Kai shook his head.

"Hard pass."

"Why? If you do it then I will belong solely to you~!" She teased.

"I don't like you." Kai stated with a flat tone.

Before she could protest Kai continued, "besides... you seem like a dangerous person."

"I am sure you have your own ways of getting out of this arranged marriage of yours."

Not denying what he said she pleaded, "you wouldn't help me even as friends?"

Kai shook his head again.

"We aren't friends."

"You—Give me back my lunch!"

"Did you forget this lunch was a deal? I promised to go on a date with you for your lunch."

"You... devil disguised as a pretty boy!"

What?

Hahahaha! Ryker who couldn't control himself burst into laughter.

As if she just remembered their deal she calmed down with a flustered face.

She got up and blow a kiss at Kai.

"Since you remembered our deal then you better look out for my message."

"You don't have to worry about the money for your little wife will be paying for everything~"

Before Kai could deny she ran away.

At the same time the bell rang.

Did we really talk for an entire hour or was it those two brats who wasted my time? He wondered as he got up and leave the empty room.

Ryker voice then rang in his head.

Do you really not like that girl? He asked.

She's interesting, but we have too much on our plate right now to start a relationship. Kai didn't deny it.

Too much? What, are you stressed? If so I know the best club that can...

Shut up. Kai quickly refused.

Going back to his class he saw Abigail giving him an satisfied smile.

He ignored her.

Back in his seat he waited for the next teacher to arrive and start the test.

I think I mastered just using Parallel Madness alone. Two hours later Kai finished the last test and lay his head on his desk.

He finally got used to the fast-slow pace.

He was now confident in dodging a rain of bullets from up to seven individuals, a huge improvement from when be fought the Quadramons at the dinner.

At that time he could dodge bullets but a rain of them would've been difficult.

Especially if at the time there were more than three Quadramons.

A few minutes later, classes were done.

Kai stretched his limbs and prepared to leave.

Of course before he could leave Abigail came to bother him.

She urged him to walk her outside and he reluctantly agreed.

"Remember this Saturday, 8AM sharp!" Abigail said as she enter a vehicle and waved at Kai.

"I won't forget a deal." Kai nodded while waving at her.

"It's not a deal, it's a date!" She stated with an angry look.

"A date." Kai sighed inside.

With one last smile her drive drove her away.

Kai walked away and at the same time something came flying at his head.

He dodged it easily. Even without Parallel Madness, Kai still had the passive abilities gain from Daredevil and Scientist.

His senses were also honed to that of the best hunter on earth thanks to Daredevil.

Alongside Scientist it was strengthen further which was something Kai didn't expect when he discovered this.

A small rock was sent flying across his vision.

The rock landed at a nearby tree and when Kai watched where it landed his expression turn frigid when he saw that rock created a small hole in the tree.

He turn his head to see two students just looking at him.

When they saw Kai turn to them they shivered but their eyes held a look of determination.

Kai immediately recognized them.

They were this school top bullies.

"Brandon and Tony." He called out and the two took a step back.

Kai was familiar with these two. After all, he beat and robbed them on many occasions until they started calling him a devil.

When Kai was in his first year these two approached him thinking he was an easy target due to his pretty face.

Little did they know they offended the wrong person.

When they realized they couldn't mess with Kai they gave up.

But Kai refused to let them simply 'give up'.

That's when they found out Kai wasn't human, but a devil.

I'm not an vengeful person, but...

if they willingly volunteer to be apart of my experiments who am I to stop them?

Ever since then Kai would test multiple things on them. He would further his field in medicine by feeding them strange substances, he would even deliver painful blows to them just to know whether they felt pain or not.

They once asked Kai if he wasn't afraid of their families.

But Kai responded with a, "what is there to be afraid of?"

They screamed, "our family wealth and connections!"

That was when Kai gave them a smile that made them think they were staring at a demon.

"What is wealth to my vast knowledge?"

That was the day they realized Kai was a lunatic.

But they also knew Kai wasn't wrong. He truly was knowledgeable as he showed them records of all their families illegal activities that would send them to prison for life.

That was two years ago. At that time Kai was only 15 years old and he quickly lost interest in those two bullies.

They should've been thankful.

But who would've thought they would willingly open up old wounds?

Kai smiled at them.

He said, "I know it was the Maxfield's who put you two up to this but I really need an lab rat..."

"And you two are the most perfect subjects."
