Jessica lowered the phone and stared at the screen for a moment before placing it on the coffee table. She felt an intense urge to leave immediately and rush to Zachary's presidential suite. Still, Riley's instruction echoed in her mind.
"You can go to his room in about one hour..."
She released a heavy sigh and glanced at the watch on her wrist. One hour still felt unbearably long. She had already waited all afternoon, and now every passing minute seemed to move slower than the last.
"Ugh, one hour is too long," she muttered, running a hand through her hair. "What am I supposed to do until then?"
She began pacing around the hotel room, her thoughts moving in several directions at once. She checked the time again, even though only a few minutes had passed.
Then she walked toward the window and looked out at the city lights below. The busy streets and glowing buildings offered little distraction from the thoughts filling her mind.
