Chapter 94 - Chapter 93: Perfect Trio Coordination!! Absorbing the Invisible Man

"Denji, wake up."

Aki Hayakawa retreated into the bathroom and locked the door. He was just about to crouch down to pull the starter cord on Denji's chest when the bathroom door was suddenly kicked off its hinges.

Before he could revive Denji, Aki reflexively raised his long sword to block.

CLANG!!

Although he couldn't see anything, his Future Devil's right eye showed him the impending strike. He predicted exactly where the next blow would land.

Clang! Clang! Clang!!

He parried a dozen strikes in a row. But Aki couldn't go on the offensive; his vision showed him that any attempt to counter-attack would leave his body exposed to a fatal strike. Standing perfectly still was his safest defense.

Stuck in a deadlock, Aki shouted, "Power, get out here!!"

"The Great Me is sleeping!"

"If you don't come out, I'm telling Makima-san tomorrow!"

BANG!

"Can you stop telling Makima-san everything, please?"

In the next second, the room door flew open. Power stood at the entrance, roaring.

"Seen Arata?"

"No. Wasn't he sleeping in your room?"

"Come over here and watch Denji!"

"What happened to Denji?" Power muttered, confused. "And what are you so nervous about? I don't see any devil around."

Just as Power let her guard down, a heavy blow struck her forehead. Blood began to stream down her face. Power recoiled instantly and slammed her bedroom door shut. Aki used this distraction to bolt back into his own room, lock the door, and scramble for his phone to call Arata.

BANG!!

The bedroom door took a brutal kick. Aki panicked, fumbling for Arata's number, but before he could dial, the door flew open, letting in a chilling gust of wind. Aki had no choice but to drop the phone and swing his weapon to defend himself.

Clang, clang, clang!!

The invisible intruder's assault grew faster. Aki was forced into a defensive cycle, unable to retaliate. Just as he thought the stalemate would last forever, Power's voice rang out again. "What the hell is this thing, daring to hit my head!"

"Power, over here!" Aki shouted.

Power rushed into the room. "He's in front of me!"

"Good!"

Power swung her blood-hammer toward the spot in front of Aki. It smashed heavily into the invisible assailant's back.

"Agh!" The intruder shrieked. Aki immediately lunged forward with his blade, but the strike hit empty air. The intruder had vanished again.

"Where did he go?"

"Guard the door! Don't let him out!"

But the moment he finished speaking, Power was sent flying by a collision. The next second, sounds of a struggle echoed from the bathroom—Denji's body was being dragged toward the door. Aki threw his long sword toward the exit.

CLANG!!

The sword was blocked. The front door swung open, and Denji was dragged out into the hallway.

"What is that thing!!"

A roar erupted from the hallway. VROOM!!

With the roar of a chainsaw, Denji, now awake, jerked his starter cord.

"Denji!" Aki and Power chased after him. Denji, already transformed into Chainsaw Man, stood his ground. "What happened? I was washing my face in the bathroom when I got knocked out."

"A guy who can turn invisible sneaked into the house."

"Invisibility!"

"Exactly. He's likely still here." Aki said cautiously.

The three stood back-to-back, scanning the area. Suddenly, the door to the neighboring apartment opened. A man stepped out, cursing, "Can't a guy get any sleep in the middle of the night?"

Before he could finish, his head was smashed into a pulp, and he collapsed.

"THERE HE IS!!"

Denji instantly fired his chains toward the neighbor's slumped position. The two chains pierced deep into the invisible man's body.

"Aki, Power!"

"Leave it to the Great Me!!"

Power leaped into the air, using the taut chains as a platform to launch herself at the intruder. Her blood-hammer morphed into a blood-axe, and she spun in a wide arc. With one brutal Four-Direction Slaughter strike, she cleaved the intruder in half.

As the invisible man died, his true form was revealed: a brown-skinned creature, goblin-like, clutching an iron hammer.

"It hurts!!" The neighbor clutched his smashed head, face twisted in agony.

"Are you okay?"

"Do I look like I'm okay?!"

The man's wife, woken by the noise, burst out. Seeing her husband's head bashed in, she instinctively assumed Denji and the others were the attackers. "What are you doing!! Why are you hitting people!"

"We didn't do it!"

"He was attacked by a devil, but we've killed it."

Aki went back inside, found a large black trash bag, packed the devil's corpse into it, and dragged it back into the house.

"Aki, why do you want the corpse?" Denji asked.

"Arata is very interested in corpses, so I'm bringing it back. Plus, we can't just leave a devil's body lying out there."

"If we keep it in the house, won't it wake up suddenly?" Power eyed the bag.

"It should be dead. You guys watch it; I'm going to call Arata."

Aki returned to his room to call Arata. He learned that Arata, bored, had gone out late at night to discuss a script with Asuka Saito. Aki filled him in on the situation. Hearing that someone had staged an ambush in his absence, Arata immediately used a mirror in the bathroom to warp back.

Sounds emanated from the bathroom again. The group braced for combat. When they saw it was Arata, the tension finally drained away. Safety was guaranteed whenever he was around.

"Everything alright? No one injured?" Arata asked.

"The Great Me got my head bashed, I need some blood."

"You look perfectly fine to me."

Arata noticed the large black bag on the floor. "That's the devil's corpse, right?"

"Yes. See what devil this is," Aki said.

Arata opened the bag, took one look, and instantly recognized it.

"A Peeping Devil."

"Peeping!!"

"A devil born from the fear of being spied on, the fear of losing one's privacy, and the fear of private videos being leaked."

"He can turn invisible."

"Yes, invisibility is his specialty. His other abilities are mediocre. As long as you can see him, he's easier to beat than a human."

"Master, we barely killed him."

"Great work. I'll help you dispose of the corpse." Arata pulled the bag into his room.

Aki grabbed his wrist. "You need to tell us what you're doing with these corpses now."

"I've been targeted recently. If I come out directly, people will hear me. Tonight, I'll tell you all about it in your dreams."

Satisfied with the answer, Aki released him.

A moment later, Denji felt a tap on his shoulder. When he turned, no one was there.

"Don't be afraid, it's me."

Arata revealed himself.

"Master, you..."

"Aki, I did this—you should understand without further explanation, right?"

Aki's expression shifted dramatically as he realized what Arata had done. It was as if he were saying, This ability is too overpowered.

"Master, I don't get it."

"The Great Me understands a little."

"You don't need to understand. Just know that from now on, whenever you see a devil corpse on the road, you must bring it home and give it to me."
