Chapter 5 - Preparation

I definitely said it. That we could make the three of us invisible with the feather robe, then move around and eavesdrop on what Ayumi was saying...

 I certainly said that. But,

"Why do we have to stick together as a group of three?! Besides, it's too cramped!!"

"I-I'm so sorry! B-But if we don't do this we can't see each other, and I'm not very good at controlling multiple Hagoromo..."

"I'd really like to hear about what you're good at later!"

It seems that only one mass can be made transparent at a time, so they are crammed into a fairly narrow space, though not quite as cramped as a packed train.

Both of their chests have been pressing against my back this whole time, what's with this event that's so common in obscure dating sims?! The one I need to conquer isn't Elsie or Nakagawa, it's Ayumi!!

"Okay, let's take off!"

"What?!"

"Yay!"

Then, as if floating in the air along with its feathered robe, it suddenly leaped off the rooftop and plummeted at incredible speed towards the corner of the ground.

"Aa

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!"

Just when I thought we were about to hit the ground, the brakes slammed on, and we landed gently.

"Hehe, what do you think!"

"Are you trying to kill me?!"

"Oh, so, it didn't work?"

"Of course!! My lifespan has been shortened!!!"

"K-Katsuragi-kun, calm down! It'll be terrible if this turns into a commotion!!"

"Uh, yeah, I guess so."

realityrealIt's nothing new that it's a terrible game.

I, the ideal resident of this place, must set an example.

"Oh, it's okay no matter how noisy you are! I've set up a small soundproof barrier along Hagoromo-san's path."

"Is that even possible?"

"Yes! What's more, it's an excellent product that doesn't emit any internal noise, but allows you to hear external sounds perfectly!!"

For some reason, I've always been good at barrier techniques!!

"If you could somehow manage to create this narrow space with that barrier technique of yours, I'd be able to commend you..."

"Ugh, invisibility is Hagoromo's ability, so I can't do it. I'm sorry."

"Alright then, I'll get closer to Ayumi. Just close enough so I don't bump into her."

"Yes!" "Uh-huh."

...After that, I continued to eavesdrop during club activities (for several hours).

Since writing the entire text would be endless, I'll just summarize the interesting points...

Apparently, the track and field club has a competition in a few days. It seems that Ayumi Takahara, the club's ace, will be participating.

The scale of that tournament is such that if you do well, your name will be published in the local newspaper. I'd say it's quite large.

Apparently, because it's such a big tournament, only selected members from each school are allowed to participate.

It's only natural, but he ended up taking part in the competition, pushing aside a senior who was originally scheduled to participate.

Recently, Ayumi's grades seem to have stagnated. She doesn't seem to mind, but... I'm honestly suspicious.

And this is the most important thing.

Apparently , Ayumi ties her hair up when she's serious. She 's quite perceptive, isn't she? reality

That should be about it. I'll type all the information up to this point using the PFP keyboard and save it.

This level of information is easy enough to memorize, but this is my first time trying to win over a 3D girl. I don't know what's going to happen, so it's best to be fully prepared.

"God! What do we do next?"

"First of all, I'm going to cheer them on as much as I can!"

"Do you mean, cheer?"

"Yes, Ayumi and I are in the same class, but that's all."

First, you need to make me known.

So, for example, we'll use banners or something to make our support really stand out!

"I wonder if I'll get in trouble for doing something like that...?"

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'll get yelled at."

"Wait, are you sure you're okay!?"

"In games, like and dislike are interchangeable."

Even events that make you unpopular can definitely be useful later on. In games, that is!

There's a saying that "the opposite of love is indifference," and this perfectly applies to games.

Right now, it's attracting attention regardless of the type of emotion!

"So, let's get some banners and stuff ready!"

"Well, you say that so easily, but it's not that simple to prepare, you know?"

I occasionally hear from fans that it seems quite difficult to make."

"What? In games, you can usually whip something up in a flash in situations like this! Not being able to do it at all isn't very player-friendly." reality

So what do we do then? Should we think of another approach?

"Hey God, I can make a banner."

"What?! Is that true?!"

"Yes! If you use Hagoromo-san, it will look something like this..."

Elsie's feathered robe changes shape and becomes a large piece of fabric.

"What should I write?"

"Well... something like 'Go for it, Ayumi Takahara!!'"

"Something like, 'Become the wind, Ayumi!'?"

"Like, 'The Bullet of Maiko!'"

"Yes, um... it's done!"

The color of the celestial robe's surface changed, and the words we spoke appeared.

"With this, I can definitely support Ayumi-sama!"

"Hagoromo is amazing..."

Anyway, let's start cheering them on from tomorrow."

"What should I do? Cheering together... that would be counterproductive, wouldn't it?"

"Yeah, that's right."

If I were to get along with the idol and cheer her on, it would only cause unnecessary trouble, and Ayumi's opinion of me would plummet. Or rather, Nakagawa might be so attention-grabbing that I might not even leave an impression.

Our goal isn't to support them, but to conquer them.

"For now, just think of something to say on the banner."

"...Yeah, I'm sorry this is all I can do. I know it's tough, but do your best."

"Yeah, I'll do it."
