By the time school ended, I felt drained.
Not just tired..'off'
Like something inside me wasn't sitting right.
I adjusted my bag and started walking home alone. My friends had already gone their separate ways, laughing about things I didn't have the energy to care about. The street was quieter than usual. Too quiet. And then..I saw him. The same guy from the morning. Standing a few steps away. Watching me. Not casually. Not by accident. Directly. My chest tightened. Why is he here? For a second, neither of us moved. Then I looked away and kept walking. Fast. I could feel it his gaze still on me. My steps turned into hurried strides. Then into a run. I didn't stop until I reached the bus stop near the corner. That's when I noticed her. A woman stood there, gripping her arm. Blood seeped through her fingers, dripping slowly onto the ground. Red. Too red. My breath caught. Something inside me… reacted. My heartbeat started racing. My throat felt dry.. painfully dry. And my eyes… They wouldn't move away from the blood. A strange thought slipped into my mind. Just a taste…
I froze. "What the hell is wrong with me…?" I whispered. This isn't normal. This isn't me.
I tried to step back. I really did. But my body didn't listen. Instead…I stepped closer. The world around me blurred. All I could see..Was the blood. The smell hit me next. "Metallic", "Warm","Inviting" My pulse pounded in my ears. Louder….Louder… I was close now.Too close.
Suddenly….
A hand clamped over my mouth from behind.
Before I could react, a cloth was pressed tightly against my face. A sharp, unfamiliar scent filled my lungs. My body went rigid.
Then weak. I struggled, trying to pull away….
but my strength was gone. Everything started spinning. My vision blurred.
Fading…
Fading…
And then….
I saw him. Across the street. The same guy.
Still standing there. Still watching.
His expression unreadable. Like he was waiting for something. Why isn't he helping…?
That was my last thought before everything went dark.
