Chapter 29 - Return of the Shadow

The note in Arisa's hand fluttered as it hit the floor. The sketch of the **H2R** motorcycle seemed to mock her. Outside, Aryan was on the phone with the police, convinced they were safe. But Arisa knew—if Abir Khan said he was coming, he was already at the door.

That night, a torrential rain began to fall. Suddenly, the silence was shattered by the monstrous roar of an engine. That familiar sound—Abir's custom black H2R. Arisa's heart skipped a beat.

She peeked through the curtain. Through the veil of rain stood a tall, imposing figure sitting on the bike. He wore a black leather jacket, his helmet reflecting the flashes of lightning. Aryan rushed into the room, panicked.

"What is that sound, Arisa? I'm trying to call the police, but the lines are cut! Someone jammed the signal!"

At that moment, the front door splintered open. A figure stepped through the mist of rain and debris. His body bore the marks of the explosion—burn scars and bandages—but his gaze remained as sharp and lethal as ever. Abir Khan. He held a silenced pistol.

"Aryan..." Abir said, his voice low and raspy. "Did you think you could extinguish a flame like me? I've returned from hell just to reclaim what is mine."

Before Aryan could reach for his gun, Abir lunged with predatory speed, twisting Aryan's arm. Aryan cried out in pain. Abir pinned him against the wall, whispering into his ear, "I didn't come to kill you. I'm going to let you live just so you can watch Arisa walk away with me—willingly."

Abir turned to Arisa. His eyes held a mixture of fury and desperate longing. He extended his bandaged hand toward her.

"Come, Arisa. Our world begins anew from the ashes. No more glass palaces; this time, we will live like shadows across this earth."

Arisa looked at Aryan's bloodied face, then back into Abir's hypnotic eyes. She realized there was no escaping this man—it was written in her destiny. She stepped forward.

"I will go, Abir. But you must let my brother go."

Abir smirked—that cruel, captivating smile. He gripped her hand tightly and led her out into the rain. The H2R stood waiting, ready to carry them into a new kind of darkness.
