Lily wore one of the newly purchased dresses as Tiger had requested. She neatly folded his borrowed clothes, placed them into a bag, and walked back over to him.
"We need to buy some footwear for you next," Tiger stated, leading her straight toward an adjacent shoe boutique. After picking out a pair of sneakers, casual slippers, and heels, they finally loaded everything into the car and got back inside.
Lily sat quietly in the passenger seat, her mind racing as she tried to figure out how she could ever pay him back. Every single item he bought was expensive; at her rate, it would take her at least a year of hard labor to reimburse him.
"Let's eat out. It's already dinner time," Tiger opined, shifting into drive and steering the car toward a nearby restaurant.
Noticing her silence, Tiger asked, "What happened? Women usually get happy when they shop." He caught a brief glimpse of the way her hands were fidgeting, her fingers nervously twisting together in her lap.
