"What? Gideon and Adeline have returned?! This early?" Presley questioned, her brows knitting together in a confusion. Shaking her head in disbelief, she rose to her feet and went straight to the King's manor.
As she entered the grand study, she found them already greeting the Alpha King.
"Oh, the Luna Queen is also here," Huxley said, his eyes fixing on his wife as she walked in. Adeline turned around and greeted her respectfully as a part of her duty, but Gideon remained completely rigid, refusing to acknowledge her.
"I would like to speak with my father alone," Gideon said, his expression intensely serious. "Adeline can stay. As for the rest, I want everyone to leave." His words carried the command, one meant for the Luna Queen as well.
"What happened?" Huxley questioned, his confusion growing at his son's dark mood. Knowing Gideon wouldn't speak a word until they were isolated, Huxley turned to his wife and asked her to leave.
