I could feel the air heating up around me.
My heart raced, blood rushed to my head, and a whirlwind of sensations flooded through my body in a bizarre rush. I knew Aiden liked me, but hearing him say it out loud was an entirely different experience.
Those words carried a strength that exceeded my expectations.
"I waited all this time just to stand by your side again. You always downplayed my feelings and never believed in me, and maybe you still don't believe me now. But I've always been this way."
