Chapter 47

Aiden always had this dislike for Carlisle, which was pretty evident from when the three of us met. But now, it seemed like downright hatred, judging by how he avoided my question. As I thought back to what happened at the lake earlier in the day, I couldn't help but nibble on my lip.
Just then, Julianne approached me and settled on the edge of the bed, giving me a reassuring pat.
"What's on your mind, Lili?"
"Umm…"
‘Oh, you know, just thinking about my friend’s lack of sociability.’
I let out a shy smile, feeling comforted by Julianne's gentle touch. She then lifted me up and placed me on her lap, which sent a warm, tingling sensation through me.
"Did you enjoy today, Lili?"
"Uh-huh!"
‘It was so much fun! Watching Josh and Luca play in the water was hilarious, and the walk around the lake with everyone was just great. Oh, and dinner was absolutely delicious!’
"It was great!"
‘…Great to the point where I could forget my guilt for a while.’
