"Lili!" Carlisle greeted me with his usual bright smile. He always seemed so innocent when he was with me.
"Hi, Carlisle."
‘Somehow, it feels like I haven't seen him in ages, even though it hasn't been more than a month. So much has happened during that time, maybe that's why.’
I smiled softly, but Carlisle quickly picked up on something amiss.
‘He always catches on so quickly about these kinds of things.’
"Greetings, Your Highness," Julianne politely greeted Carlisle, and he shifted his attention to her, returning the greeting in the same manner.
"I've been waiting, Lady Blanchet."
"I wanted to visit you as soon as possible, but something came up."
"I heard that Count and Countess Blanchet returned to the empire," Carlisle answered with a composed smile on his face.
‘No, Carlisle. No. The Blanchet couple is a touchy subject for us right now.’
"...Yes, both of them returned safely," Julianne replied after a moment of silence, maintaining her smile.
