Those words hit Ravi like a storm. Without saying anything he turned and walked away.

Days turned into weeks their friendship seemed to fade like an old photograph.

Aarav spent more time alone, writing in his notebook. Kabir, though surrounded by people, often felt an emptiness he couldn't explain.

One evening, during the rainy season, the river began to overflow. Heavy rain poured down, and the town was on alert. The old bridge, already weak, was at risk of collapsing.

That same evening, Kabir and his friends decided to go near the river, ignoring warnings.

"It'll be fun!" one of them said.

Kabir hesitated. For a moment, he remembered Aarav's cautious nature. But he brushed the thought aside and went along.

As they reached the bridge, the rain grew heavier. The wood creaked loudly under their feet.

Suddenly, there was a loud crack.

The bridge began to break.

Panic spread.

"Run!" someone shouted.

Kabir tried to move, but a piece of wood gave way beneath him, and he slipped, hanging onto the edge of the broken bridge.

The river roared beneath him.

"Help!" Kabir cried.

But his friends had already run away in fear.

At that very moment, Aarav was nearby, returning home with an umbrella. He heard the faint cry through the rain.

He rushed toward the sound.

When he reached the bridge, his heart froze.

Kabir was hanging on, barely holding himself up.

Without a second thought, Aarav ran forward.

"Kabir!" he shouted.

Kabir looked up, shocked. "Aarav… please… help me…"

The rain made everything slippery. The bridge could collapse any moment.

Aarav lay flat on the ground and extended his hand.

"Hold on to me!" he said firmly.

Kabir hesitated. His grip was slipping.

"I'm scared…" Kabir whispered.

"I'm here," Aarav said, his voice steady. "I won't let you fall."

Kabir gathered his strength and reached out. Their hands clasped tightly.

With all his strength, Aarav pulled Kabir up.

Both of them fell onto the broken bridge, breathing heavily.

For a moment, neither of them spoke.

The rain slowly began to fade.

Kabir looked at Aarav, his eyes filled with guilt and gratitude.

"I'm sorry…" he said, his voice trembling. "I left you… I said terrible things…"

Aarav shook his head. "You're my friend. That doesn't change."

Kabir couldn't hold back his tears. "I thought those other people were my friends… but they ran away."

Aarav smiled softly. "Real friends don't run away when things get hard."

Kabir nodded. "I understand now."

They sat there for a while, the broken bridge beneath them, but their friendship stronger than ever.

From that day on, Kabir changed.

He left the bad company and returned to his studies. He started spending time with Aarav again, just like old days.

They repaired the bridge together—not perfectly, but enough to make it safe.

It became a symbol of their friendship.

Years passed.

Kabir became a professional cricketer, just like he had dreamed. Aarav became a writer and published his first book.

The title of the book was "The Bridge of Friendship."

At the book launch, Aarav said, "This story is about a friend who taught me that true friendship is not about being perfect—it's about being there for each other, no matter what."

Kabir, standing in the crowd, smiled with tears in his eyes.

Friendship is not just about laughter and good times. It is about trust, forgiveness, and standing by each other even when everything falls apart.

Like a bridge, it may crack under pressure—but if it is built with true care, it will never truly break.

And that is the beauty of true friendship.
