Chapter 57 - Chapter 57: New Lab and New Tasks

Back at the manor, as soon as Hong Fei got out of the car, he gave Frank a big hug.

Dr. Helen Cho was standing to the side, and seeing this, she stepped forward. Hong Fei wouldn't embarrass her, so he hugged her in turn.

Samuel tried to follow suit, but a cold snort from Frank stopped him. He turned his head and cast an ingratiating look at Dr. Helen Cho, but she merely extended one hand.

Hong Fei looked into the distance. The newly built laboratory's structure was already fully visible.

Although the funds Hong Fei had invested could only build a barely entry-level laboratory, it was at least a good start.

"Dr. Cho, it looks like you will be able to start working soon."

Dr. Helen Cho smiled. "I am looking forward to it as well."

Now that he had money in hand, Hong Fei wasn't panicking much anymore.

"Mr. Hong, you go ahead and get busy. I'm going to go check things out over there." Dr. Helen Cho shook the white helmet in her hand.

Hong Fei smiled as he watched her leave. Back inside, Hong Fei first asked Samuel, "How is your level of network technical skill?"

Samuel confidently patted his own head. "There is no one in this World who understands networks better than I do."

Regardless of whether he was bragging or not, Hong Fei still trusted him quite a bit for the time being. Because there was no one else he could trust right now.

"Alright then. Next, you and Number One will be responsible for selling the tanks. I have only one requirement: don't get caught. Otherwise, I won't know you at all."

After saying that, without waiting for his response, Hong Fei turned around, put his arm around Frank's shoulder, and went upstairs.

Samuel sighed softly, while simultaneously thinking that he should hurry up and learn more computer science knowledge.

Number One stepped forward and said with a smile, "Mr. Samuel, when shall we begin?"

"No rush. Wait for me to go see the Abomination first, then we can complete the mission together."

Samuel's curiosity about the Abomination stemmed from Banner, or rather, the Hulk. His previous research on the Banner serum had taken painstaking effort just to open a small crack in the door.

Now that the Abomination was imprisoned and his IQ had skyrocketed, he believed he would definitely be able to gain unprecedented, brand-new discoveries from the Abomination.

Upstairs, after Hong Fei pulled Frank to sit down, he immediately revealed the gains from his trip. Four billion one hundred and fifty million.

"Who did you kidnap this time?" This was Frank's first reaction.

"Nonsense!" Hong Fei refuted immediately, but then chuckled, "We'll talk about kidnapping later. This time, I did some proper business, and at the same time, I made a one-of-a-kind friend."

Frank didn't say a word.

If it weren't for the sudden disappearance of the tanks in the Underground Room, I might have almost believed him.

Hong Fei didn't say anything more and cut straight to the point. "What about the butler and the financial officer?"

"I have candidates, but I am still screening their backgrounds."

Afterward, without waiting for Hong Fei to ask, Frank blurted out, "Second, the Mafia and The Hand have broken out in a few small-scale conflicts, but to avoid alerting the enemy, I haven't participated. Next, I will look for a suitable opportunity to continue inciting conflict between them. Third, for the people you asked me to find, I have compiled their information and will send it directly to your email in a moment. However, I don't suggest you go right now; the situation in New York is very tense currently."

"Tense? Why?"

Frank gave a cold smile. "Because someone is firing cannons in the city."

Hong Fei shrugged, his smile undiminished. "It wasn't me who fired them."

Frank was even more annoyed when he heard that.

Hong Fei slightly reined in his smile. "Seriously, it's been almost a month. Is the situation still that tight?"

"It's mainly General Ross of the Military. He seems convinced that the Abomination hasn't run far and has been taking his men to search back and forth around New York."

"I see." Hong Fei thought for a moment and said, "Find a way to organize a few demonstrations to put some pressure on him. General Ross has his heart set on a political career; he will definitely care about his reputation."

Frank thought that made sense and nodded in agreement. However, he immediately looked at Hong Fei and said in a serious tone, "Tony Stark came looking for you. He came wearing his armor."

Hong Fei's brow furrowed immediately. "How did he behave?"

"Fairly normal, but he didn't state his purpose. After knowing you weren't here, he just turned around and flew away."

"Alright, I'll go find him when I have time. Let's not talk about that for now. I have a few urgent matters I need to discuss with you. First, I plan to have Samuel set up an intelligence center; second, I intend to gradually involve Dr. Helen Cho in the research on the Abomination; finally, I want to get a fighter jet. Can you fly one?"

The three goals were like three daggers stabbing into Frank's heart, causing his lips to tremble repeatedly.

"Do you know what you are saying?"

"Of course I know, and I have thought about it very clearly. I want you to help me advise on it."

Frank's expression darkened. "I can't advise you. I have never professionally handled intelligence, I don't know what you want to study the Abomination for, and I certainly can't fly a fighter jet. So you'd better find someone else!"

As he said this, he actually stood up to leave.

Hong Fei hurried forward and grabbed him. "Don't be in such a rush."

"I didn't say we have to do it all right now. We need to proceed step by step. However, even though Big Head is acting obedient now, there's no telling when he might betray us again."

"Dr. Helen Cho hasn't even started her own research yet, so it's not convenient to add more trouble for her. As for the fighter jet, if you can't fly one, do you know any retired pilots you can introduce me to?"

"You're thinking too simply. All pilots' identities are considered secrets to the outside world. After retirement, they also enjoy unusual care. Finding them won't be easy."

Hong Fei's thick eyebrows furrowed tightly.

Seeing this, Frank's heart stirred. After some thought, he said, "It's highly unlikely to work here, but you could try your luck in Russia."

Hong Fei's eyes immediately lit up, and he nodded quickly.

"The Bear is different from the Eagle. Due to historical legacy issues, they are relatively more open when it comes to the military, and this might just become Hong Fei's opportunity."

Hong Fei suddenly waved his hand. "Alright, you go ahead. Remember to work hard! I'll give you a bit more of a year-end bonus!"

Frank pulled a long face and stood up to leave.

Afterward, Frank sent him a new email.

After opening it, there were photos accompanied by very detailed information. Matt Murdock, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones. Clearly three out of four; the remaining Iron Fist didn't appear. Hong Fei guessed he might not have returned from K'un-Lun yet. Speaking of Iron Fist, although Danny Rand's performance was shockingly weaker than his predecessors, he was the target I valued the most.

Right now, Iron Fist was not here, and the remaining three had not yet met or gotten to know each other, so there was no such thing as the so-called Defenders alliance. After memorizing the three people's information, especially their addresses, Hong Fei rested until nightfall, then changed his clothes and headed for Hell's Kitchen in New York.
