Military vehicles sped through the city, and a military helicopter approached through the air.
Hong Fei rushed into a parking lot first, took a bag out of the trunk, and headed straight into a restroom.
At the Manor, receiving the call, Frank didn't hesitate and directly issued the order for action. After changing into a camouflage military uniform, he picked up his phone to check the situation. There was no need to search for news. Opening social media, the photos and videos posted by people were enough for him to understand the situation.
Five minutes later, the entire lawn of the manor's backyard suddenly tilted downward, and then three military vehicles sped out. On the vehicles, over twenty people were all dressed in military attire, with helmets, face masks, and goggles covering their faces completely.
However, Frank clearly hadn't followed Hong Fei's instructions to the letter. They still carried rifles and other equipment with them. The vehicles rushed into the city. No police stopped them for searches; instead, they watched Frank and the others enter with looks of reverence.
Nearing Harlem, wounded soldiers lying on the street pointed at the distant flames and shouted loudly, clearly having mistaken them for their own reinforcements. But Frank wasn't foolish enough to charge straight in. He directed the vehicles to bypass the core combat zone and drive to different areas. His goal was to scout the terrain first and then pick hidden spots to smoothly set up the mortars. With skyscrapers everywhere in the city, considering the trajectory, there weren't actually many places for him to choose from.
On the other side, Hong Fei changed into grey clothes and wore a Joker mask. After rushing into Harlem, he climbed to the top of an old building at the end of the road. On the straight street, a tall and hideous green figure was constantly destroying everything in front of it. Bullets were useless, so the military fired RPGs. Unfortunately, even when the Abomination held the shell in its hand, the force of the explosion and the flames caused him no harm. It pursued fiercely with large strides, finally using a taxi to crush a military vehicle along with the soldiers into a pancake.
A high-pitched, triumphant roar immediately echoed in all directions.
Hong Fei hid his body even deeper. A head-on fight was definitely out of the question. Even if he were to break through once and enter the first stage of enhancement, it still wouldn't work. If he tried to brute force it, the Abomination could probably hammer him to death with a single punch. Is he powerful? He traded his looks and brains for it!
Pulling the communicator near his collar, Hong Fei asked, "Frank, are you in position?"
"Everyone has arrived. We're setting up."
"Good. No need to rush now.
Wait for orders, keep your Hidden Identity, find an escape route first, and if necessary, abandon the weapons and blend into the crowd."
"Okay. I see that strange thing. It seems a bit different from the green monster in the previous news."
"They're brothers." After thinking for a bit, Hong Fei said, "Send a few people to trace back along the path it appeared from. You might find a The Leader. Bring him back to the manor. If he doesn't cooperate, just kill him."
"Got it."
After making the arrangements, Frank asked again, "I can locate your position. I brought a Grenade Launcher. Do you want it?"
Hong Fei was silent for a moment. "I do!"
On the ground, the citizens were fleeing in all directions, filled with panic. General Ross, flying in the sky, felt regret and anger. The real Hulk was sitting right next to him, so he knew clearly that the one below wasn't Hulk. Furthermore, he could roughly guess who the person below was. The regret was that the other party had become disobedient; the anger was that this action would clearly bring a huge negative impact on him.
At the S.H.I.E.L.D. New York branch, Maria Hill had already rushed to the scene accompanied by her subordinate Agents. "No one is to take action without orders. Our primary objective is rescue." Such an order was naturally out of consideration for the Military's pride. It was best to let the Military handle their own affairs; otherwise, it would be easy to end up in a thankless situation. Besides, if it really came to a fight, Hill didn't think she or the people around her could be of much help. Most importantly, that big green fellow was very likely to become one of their own in the future, which made it even more inconvenient to intervene.
Frank arrived at Hong Fei's location and handed him a weapon that was ridiculously thick, while also setting down two drum magazines. "Two types of rounds: white for lethality, yellow for armor-piercing. Fifteen rounds of each." The shape of this weapon was similar to a regular firearm, the difference being its very thick barrel and even thicker drum magazine. Hong Fei took it and said, "Good stuff. Why didn't I notice this before?"
"Because your eyes are only for cannons." Setting up the tripod, Hong Fei clearly saw the ferocious Abomination through the scope. Frank didn't stay long and turned back to his Mortar position. Turning his gaze to the sky, Hong Fei saw the rear hatch of the helicopter open. A man and a woman stood at the hatch for a farewell kiss, and then the man plummeted from the high altitude. The great battle was about to begin. Hong Fei: "Everyone, get ready." Banner crashed straight into the ground. A moment later, a large green arm reached out from underground.
After Hulk climbed out, he immediately let out a roar toward the distant Abomination.
Hearing the sound, the Abomination turned his head and gave a sinister grin. The two beasts began to charge at each other. Hong Fei started the countdown. "Three." "Two." "Fire!"
Boom! Boom! Boom! Three thunderous sounds erupted from different corners of the city, and three shells shot out almost simultaneously. Hulk and the Abomination had just leaped and collided in mid-air when the shells arrived in an instant, exploding directly above their heads.
In an instant, the thunderous explosions shattered nearby glass. The high-temperature, high-pressure airwaves pushed flames soaring into the sky, while Hulk and the Abomination, situated below the blast point, were pressed into the ground by the intense pressure, swallowed by fire and shrapnel in the blink of an eye.
Hong Fei loaded the armor-piercing drum, pressed his eye to the scope, and said again, "Prepare the second round."
Flames billowed, and shrapnel riddled the buildings on both sides with holes. Fortunately, people had already evacuated; otherwise, it would have been a human tragedy.
Hearing the sound of cannons, Agent Hill and others engaged in rescue felt a slight sigh of relief. Daring to fire cannons in the city would lead to various criticisms afterward no matter what, but right now, it was undoubtedly the best choice.
They hadn't expected General Ross to have such boldness; he truly lived up to his reputation in the Military.
Inside the helicopter, General Ross shouted, "Well done! Find out who did it, I want to reward him handsomely!"
Roar!! Two roars overlapped, and two giant figures rushed out of the raging flames.
Hulk had no scars on his body; the flames hadn't even damaged his hair. The Abomination's body, however, was covered in metal shrapnel, though the wounds were not deep.
The Abomination clenched his fists and exerted force throughout his body. The shrapnel on his skin immediately flew backward with a 'shoo-shoo' sound, and the wounds on his body began to heal rapidly.
In the sky, General Ross said to the machine gunner, "Aim at that monster!"
"Which one?"
"The one with spikes on its back!"
The machine gun barrels rotated, and bullets surged out.
"Ross!" the Abomination roared toward the sky.
Hulk sprinted forward, pinning the Abomination down and swinging his fists with all his might.
Hong Fei: "Fire."
There were three more cannon blasts, but this time Hulk seemed to have learned his lesson. He suddenly kicked off the ground and leaped into the distance, while the Abomination had just rolled over and stood up when the shells arrived. The three shells arrived one after another, the consecutive bombardment hitting the Abomination directly into a deep pit.
Vehicles were exploding, the ground was burning, and Hulk stared at the flames without blinking.
Ross: "Beautiful!"
Hill: "What a clever gunner."
But the Abomination wouldn't die that easily.
Soon, a large hand with protruding knuckles climbed onto the edge of the pit, and Hulk immediately roared.
While aiming, Hong Fei said, "One last wave, then Frank stays, and everyone else retreats to a safe area to wait for orders."
Not long after, there were three more consecutive shots, and the Abomination, who had just poked his head out, was hit back down again.
With a loud rumble, the buildings near the impact point could no longer withstand the impact of the shrapnel and airwaves, collapsing downward with a crash.
