Black blades reached Tera's first drinking pipe before the last child left the cistern yard.
The pipe stayed whole. Water entered House Four and came out of Cairo's archive sprinkler line.
A clerk on the exterior ladder took the first burst across her back. The water knocked her against a cracked pillar, and Cairo keepers cut the sprinkler valve before roots reached the ladder.
At Tera's school, House Four lost its water.
"Pipe current, destination wrong," Tera said.
Rina kept the injury and the lost house supply on separate lines.
The old tray roof spread across Cairo's archive room. Aren reached the exit with Mara's box against his chest. He set it outside the room under his own object custody and released the floor behind him.
The tray image kept growing.
Mara's sealed sample pulled toward it from inside the box.
Kestrel placed copper mesh around the whole container without opening it. The mesh slowed the pull and gave no route stop.
