Mercy's freight room acquired a second south wall while Caleb stood in its center.
The original wall remained behind the loading rail. The new one cut through a locked medicine cage and opened onto Southline Eight's freighter deck.
Three deckhands stared through the opening. One held a welding mask. Another had been asleep under a tarp.
"Close your local doors," Caleb told them.
"We did," the welder said. "This one came from your side."
Elara ordered Mercy's occupied floors off every shared lift route. Each ward retained stairs, exterior rescue baskets, and its own release keeper. Moving patients took twenty-eight minutes.
The wall moved six meters before they finished.
It crossed the freight room without breaking concrete. Wherever it passed, objects acquired destinations from Caleb's silver map. A crate of surgical tubing reached Coastal Port. A floor drain opened above Inland Bridge Nine. One overhead lamp illuminated Night Ground's north gate.
