Chapter 36 - Chapter 36. Bet

Arsheus

I watched as Ria and Allea picked the hampers filled with clothes and left. I wanted to stay with them, but we needed to find a way to get up without anyone stopping us.

The highest floors were guarded all day and night and from what I could see only trusted personnel could enter and leave at will. If we wanted to do just that we would need them to trust us or to find another way up.

Right now Allea and Ria were working on the first angle, proving they could do their chores correctly. I just needed to find another way soon. Earning their trust would take way too much time.

"Let's go"

I glanced at Rin and he nodded. I begun walking the corridors as a ghoul, avoiding everything that moved and tried to get in my way. Everyone ignored me now that my magic was in action. They looked at me and all they saw was an angel, one of them. They couldn't be more wrong. The moment I got what I wanted they would all suffer and scream in pain.

I kept walking leisurely towards the upper floors. With each turn I took that brought me closer to upstairs the more guards were everywhere.

The closer we got to them the sharper their eyes got, suspiciously looking at us as if we were going to destroy them.

I smiled internally thinking about how right they were. If they gave me a chance I was going to destroy them all.

" How are we going to get up?" I ignored Rin's words by my ear and looked around.

We had almost toured the whole castle and we had yet to find another alternative way up that didn't imply a fight with the guards. If worst came to happen I could take them out in a second, but that was a last time resort.

I pretended I didn't see the guards and walked straight past them, pretending I wasn't interested in the stairs they were keeping safe from people like me.

I chose a direction at random and kept following it, my eyes never straying from the direction where the stairs up led. Every single opening was guarded by at least two angels and it didn't seem like they would be easily distracted. We had to find another way up. Either that or gain their trust.

For now I saw it was way easier to earn the trust of the two idiots on the north wing of the castle.

After touring everything a second time and not finding anything at all we moved towards the North wing, where the two guards making sure no one would go up were smiling as they looked at us.

I smiled at them and walked over leisurely, as if I was just doing this out of boredom. Getting them to trust me was way too easy.

" Hi. How are you doing?" My voice was fake nice as I faked the smile on my lips. From behind me Rin also smiled at them.

I knew that was one of the fakests smiles he had, but the two men didn't seem to notice.

Their smirks were genuine as they called us forward. Gaining their trust was easy. It was as simple as asking them for directions. They had been so utterly bored that they had jumped at the chance to speak with someone other than themselves. I was fairly sure they hated or at least they didn't like each other.

" Fine. I'm bored. This guy" The easiest one to manipulate, the smily faces on the left, pointed at his friend and snorted. " has spent the whole day trying to get me to play poker"

The guard on the right smiled at us and took a deck from his pocket.

" Do you want to play?"

There was nothing else in the world I could hate more than poker. I dislike it. It was all up to luck, but the guards loved it and I needed them to trust me.

" Of course" I made my fake smile bigger as I sat on the floor, the guards and Rin following me and doing the same.

Once we were seated down the guard gave us the cards with a smirk.

I noticed the second he begun shuffling that he was cheating to win, but there were no bets. Not yet.

I smiled and played his game, losing on purpose.

After almost ten games the guards were feeling up. They had won every single round. They probably thought I hadn't even noticed that they were cheating all along. I knew, I just thought it was better to stay silent.

Once they got cocky, just like I wanted they begun wanting to up the stakes.

" How about we make a little bet?" The one obsessed with poker was smiling as he dealt again. " If we win you have to buy us some booze and if we lose...."

" If you lose you'll let us go upstairs" I cut in before he could imagine a stupid price worth nothing.

The guards looked at me weird, but I shrugged.

" I heard the views are amazing. I want to bring my girl up there"

Rin saw what is as trying to do and immediately jumped in.

" Me too"

" What do you say?" I smiled as I took my cards, obviously tampered with and looked at them.

While the guards were busy looking at each other for confirmation of their plans I used my magic to change the cards.

They looked at each other, smug and smiled.

" It's a deal"

I smiled too.

This was going to be so much fun.

I laughed internally when I used another winning hand, the guard's faces changing colors and getting red with anger.

The one on the left kept glancing at his partner, sure he hadn't cheated right.

Rin was smiling by my side. We had almost won already.

As they noticed they weren't going to win they begun panicking. If they caught them taking anyone upstairs they were done for, but if I told everyone they had lied they were also screwed. They were fucked up no matter what they did. I just hoped that they were men of their word. If not everything could come down fairly fast.

The one on the left, whose name I refused to learn, threw his hand.

I hid the smirk and used mine. His face paled when he saw I beat him.

The both of them sighed and then chuckled.

" Fair enough, you win"

I looked at Rin and smiled. This was our victory. Now I just needed to time everything.

" Do you know when the elders will be in their rooms?"

The guard's eyes narrowed suspiciously before understanding dawned on them.

" They are there all the time. They barely go out. You can choose any day you like to go upstairs. As long as you don't make a big mess they won't notice it"

This was good. Now I just needed to warn Allea and Ria. We were going to make the hit tomorrow morning.

I had honestly thought it would take some more time to convince them to let us go up, but fortunately for me they were that stupid.

" Can we do it tomorrow?"

The guards shrugged as they shuffled the cards again.

" If you like"

I smiled and took the cards from their hands.

" Want to play another game?" I needed them in a good mood until tomorrow.

" Sure"

I dealt the cards, this time with no cheating and smiled when I saw my hand.

It seemed like the world was looking up to me for once.

I smiled and threw my hand. I was gonna win and take everything from them.

Rin

The guards here were fucking stupid. I had to hide the smile in my face as we played game after game. Arsheus was putting on his best game. He was charming and smiling. I knew he just needed them for now, but it was so convincing that they seemed like real friends. If they knew what he had planned for their elders they would pale and try to kill him on the spot.

It was so much fun. Not as fun as teasing him with Ria or teasing my wife, but fun nonetheless.

I wished they were here by my side.

I pretended to focus as I looked through the window, searching for them. I had seen them going out some time ago, but they had yet to come back.

I could imagine where Allea had taken Ria and it was going to be a fucking problem.

If we were to do the hit tomorrow we needed everyone in their prime, and that meant Ria too. I honestly didn't know why Arsheus had insisted on bringing her along, she was just a liability, but now that she was here I was going to make sure she was okay. I had already fucked her up enough. I had to make things right.

" If you'll excuse me, I'm tired" I faked a yawn and dropped the cards.

" Oh, no. Don't go!" The guards pouted and begged me to stay longer, but I wanted to bring both Allea and Ria and put them up to date.

I nodded to Arsheus so subtly that the others didn't notice and he nodded back.

" Let him go. He's a pussy" Arsheus smiled his diabolical smile that gave me the creeps and the guards chuckled, taking my cards and playing another round.

" Bye"

They barely looked up to wave me goodbye.

Once I was out I opened the closest window and jumped, opening my wings to fly above the city.

From above it didn't seem as wicked as from down there. From above I could even pretend it was my home if it weren't for the guards patrolling everything. I missed my home. I missed my wife and the way she made me smile. Since I had found her she had smiled at me. I could see she still loved me by the way her eyes shone when I was near, but it wasn't the same as before and I didn't even know what I'd done to mess it up, much less how to fix it.

I let go of my dark thoughts as I landed near the bar and rushed in.

Just like I had thought Allea and Ria were inside, their clothes stained with the drinks they were all but pouring down their clothes.

My eyes focused on Allea and her smile and didn't let go. She was so fucking hot. I loved her.

I swallowed and walked up to them. They didn't even notice me until I was so close to them I could smell their alcohol breath.

" What are you doing?"

Allea smiled at me and pointed at her drinks.

" What do you think we're doing?"

" I think you're going back"

Allea pouted. Fuck, she was so hot when she did that. I wanted to turn her over and fuck her right here and now. She knew it and she used it against me. She smirked and went back to her drink.

" Do you want to go?" Allea asked Ria, smile on her lips.

A very drunk Ria smiled and shook her head.

Fuck. If she was this drunk now I couldn't imagine how much she'd be by the end of the night. I had to end this.

" Come on, let's go home"

Ria pouted, cleary too drunk to think straight. The problem was Allea. She smiled as she looked at me as if she was ordering me to beg to drag them back.

" I don't want to" Her voice wasn't even slurry as she picked another glass and drank it at once.

Fuck, I loved that woman and her stubbornness.

" I have something to give you there" I used my most suggestive voice as I gave her a heated glance.

Allea raised an eyebrow.

I looked around, but no one was paying us any attention. The only one focused on us was Ria and she was way too drunk to remember anything of this conversation later on.

I lowered my collar and showed her the leash I was wearing. I had put it on on a whim this morning, but right now, looking at Allea's eyes filling with lust I could tell it was the right call.

" Let's go"

Allea all but fell down the floor as she picked Ria and threw a few coins at the waitress. She smiled at us, winking as she waved goodbye.

Did she know?

I honestly didn't care as we all but run to the castle and got Ria to her room.

My heart raced and my blood boiled as I looked at the lust in Allea's eyes when she looked at my collar, seeing the leash underneath.

When she pushed me into my bed and took her shirt off, showing me her round, pink tits, I had never been more proud of my past decisions than in that moment.
