Theon's phone almost slipped from his hand.
His heart thundered loud in his chest.
Thump! Thump!! THUMP!!!
His grip loosened loosened and he was not sure his body had fully registered what he had just heard. He had caught the phone just in time, tightening his grip around it as he stood there in the middle of the hallway, completely still. His body felt cold.
On the other end of the line, Sienna's voice came again. "Sir… do you want me to do anything? Should I engage with her?"
Her words sounded distant, it sounded like they had to push through something thick before reaching him. It was muffled and his world seemed to be moving slow. His thoughts weren't even lining up properly.
Azaria… she walked into… Rhodes Industries… she walked in.
His breathing shuddered as he took a deep breath to steady himself. He had to keep his mind focused, but the words weren't coming forth, so he said nothing.
"Sir?" Sienna repeated. "Would you like me to engage?"
