~Elsie's POV
I stared at her, my heart still beating too fast, my chest tight from everything I had just said, and then her words settled in slowly.
Too slow.
"If you do that… that is when your real problems will start."
I blinked at her, my brows pulling together in confusion, but also in fear, because something about the way she said it didn't feel like a warning I could ignore.
"What do you mean?" I asked, my voice lower now, not as strong as before.
Gianna didn't smile this time.
Her face stayed serious, her eyes fixed on mine in a way that made my stomach twist.
"I mean," she said carefully, "my brother will not take it lightly if you try to get rid of that baby."
My fingers tightened slightly.
"He won't forgive it," she added, her voice calm but firm. "You're carrying his child, Elsie. His heir. And if you do anything to that child…" she paused briefly, her gaze hardening just a little, "you will see a side of him you are not ready for."
