Leon ran straight to Finn's room. James was already there.
He didn't even knock, just pushed the door open and walked in, his hands were still pressed against his cheeks as if he was trying to hold onto the moment.
Both of them stood up immediately.
"Leo? What happened?"
He didn't answer right away. His expression almost frightened them... flustered, overwhelmed.
"Hey… why are you holding your cheek?" James frowned. "Did Mira hit you or something?"
Leon shook his head quickly.
"No…"
A pause.
"She… kissed me."
Silence.
"Huh?!" James stared at him, completely thrown off.
Leon let out a small, breathless laugh, his face lighting up in a way they hadn't seen in a long time.
"She said… she can feel my love," he continued, his voice soft, almost disbelieving. "She said she's happy… to be mine."
Finn exchanged a glance with James.
"Did she really say that?"
Leon nodded immediately.
"Yes. I showed her the marriage certificate… and she... she trusted me. She laughed… she talked… she..."
His voice broke.
"She's laughing, Finn…" Tears slipped down his face before he could stop them.
"She's talking to me… like that… like everything is light again…"
A shaky breath.
"She's… a sunshine."
"Leo…" Finn said carefully, stepping closer. "We told you, didn't we? Right now, her mind is blank."
Leon looked up.
"It's possible that her real personality was always like this… cheerful. And maybe later…" he paused, choosing his words, "…something changed her. Something made her withdraw."
Leon went still.
Completely still.
Then slowly... Something in his expression shifted.
"Finn…" his voice dropped, quieter now, steadier. "I want her to stay like this."
A pause.
"Happy."
Another pause.
"Forever."
James frowned. "What are you saying?"
Leon looked at them both.
Clear.
Decided.
"She should never remember." The words hung heavy in the room.
"What do you mean?" Finn asked, his tone sharper now.
Leon stepped forward slightly. "Tell me one thing," he said. "Will she get her memories back?"
Finn exhaled.
"Right now… from the scans, it's not likely to happen quickly. But it's not impossible either. A trigger… something familiar… could bring back fragments. Or everything."
A pause.
"It'll take time."
Leon nodded slowly.
"Then I won't let that happen."
Both Finn and James looked at him.
"I won't let her be triggered. I won't let her meet anything that reminds her of the past." His voice was calm now.
Too calm.
"I'll protect her."
"And I'll deal with whatever... or whoever... brought her to that state."
"Leo…" Finn stepped forward, concern clear now. "The path you're choosing… it's not simple. It's not right, either. Are you sure about this?"
Leon didn't hesitate.
"Yes." He smiled. But it wasn't soft anymore.
"If this is the chance God has given me…" he said quietly, "then I'll rewrite our story."
A pause.
"I'll carry everything."
Silence filled the room.
Finn and James looked at each other.
Then back at him.
"…Okay," Finn said finally,
James didn't speak. He just nodded.
And just like that, something irreversible began.
