Chapter 178 - 178

"Jane, is this guy insane?"

Jane Foster's newly hired intern edged carefully up beside her, looking at Thor not far in front of them. "Or did getting hit by the car knock him stupid?"

"You were the one driving," Jane said irritably, rolling her eyes.

A faint trace of dark aura drifted over on the breeze. It was a power that existed only in the stories of Asgard, yet it instantly stirred Thor's buried memories, even making him forget, for a moment, that Odin had already banished him.

Thor instinctively reached out, but his outstretched hand received no response.

"No. Mjolnir..."

Only then did Thor come back to himself and realize he was no longer the mighty Crown Prince of Asgard.

He looked around, and after noticing Jane and Darcy sneaking glances at him from the side, he quickly strode toward them. "Hey, you two!"

"You! Stop right there!"

As the only man in Jane's team, Dr. Erik Selvig hurried forward to stop the lunatic when he saw him heading for Jane.

"Move!"

Thor's power had been stripped from him, but dealing with an ordinary man was still easy enough. He shoved casually, and Selvig was sent flying.

"Great, great. He's not just crazy. He's a robber too."

Darcy hurried over to help Selvig, who had fallen to the ground and was groaning nonstop. Seeing Thor, who was far taller than her, Jane swallowed and stood trembling slightly in front of the other two. "What... what exactly do you want?"

Because Jane had been the first person he saw when he opened his eyes, Thor's tone softened at once when he looked at that beautiful face. Still, his voice carried a trace of urgency. "Tell me, what realm is this?"

"Alfheim? Nornheim?"

"Do you know that an evil god exists in your realm?"

As he spoke, Thor's nostrils flared again. "Yes. This pure dark power. I could never mistake it."

"A realm? An evil god?"

Jane had only just relaxed, but Thor's words immediately filled her face with confusion. "Do you even know what you're saying?"

"He doesn't seem like a bad person. It's just..."

After helping Selvig up, Darcy pointed at her own head with a complicated expression, vividly circling her finger beside it. "There's something wrong with his brain."

"..."

Seeing the three of them stammering without managing a single proper sentence, instead staring at him in a daze, Thor sighed almost imperceptibly.

"What rotten luck. I ran into a bunch of half-witted fools."

"Heimdall, I know you can see me! I have encountered an evil god here. You had better tell my father about this as quickly as possible!"

Thor shouted toward the sky several times in a row. When he still received no response, he pursed his lips and stopped paying any attention to Jane and the others. Without hesitation, he turned and rushed toward the road not far away.

Across the Nine Realms, ordinary people who mastered weak dark powers could not stir up much trouble at all. Before long, those weak-minded mortals would be devoured by their own power and die.

But for such powerful evil divine energy to appear in some realm he did not even recognize, Thor could not possibly ignore it.

Though he no longer had the power of thunder, as the guardian of the Nine Realms and the Crown Prince of Asgard—

Former Crown Prince.

"I will drag you out!"

Thor's eyes were firm as he strode into the distance. Soon, he vanished from Jane's view.

"Where did that guy even come from?"

Darcy blinked. "So weird."

As she spoke, she poked Jane, who had pulled out a display screen with a frown and was staring blankly at the data. "Should we go?"

"No!"

A moment later, the screen in Jane's hand went black. She stared fixedly in the direction Thor had left. "Don't you think there's something truly strange about how he appeared?"

"He showed up exactly where our data was most abnormal, inside that storm that suddenly appeared, and there was no warning at all."

"Uh..." Darcy scratched her head. She was only an intern.

Jane suddenly gritted her teeth, turned around, and got back into the driver's seat. "Forget it. We're following him."

"Huh?"

...

Fenris withdrew his gaze from the distance.

That storm had appeared quickly and vanished just as quickly. The power of the Bifrost had been shut off almost immediately, and the Titan Codex's reaction had only flashed by for an instant.

"Asgard isn't exactly easy to get to."

Fenris muttered to himself.

Unlike Mephisto, who could only rage impotently on Earth, Asgard's All-Father Odin was far stronger than Fenris was now. On top of that, the Asgardians grew stronger with age. At this stage, Odin was so powerful that he had to enter the Odinsleep from time to time just to balance the power in his body.

Trying to shear anything useful off him would be no ordinary difficulty.

"Fenris, what was that?"

Wanda was extremely sensitive to energy, so the Bifrost's enormous power naturally could not escape her notice. Seeing Fenris withdraw his gaze, she immediately moved closer.

Emma keenly noticed the fleeting desire in Fenris's eyes and said worriedly, "Fenris, you're in no condition to take risks right now."

"I won't take any risks. Don't worry."

Fenris nodded with a smile. Emma looked him up and down for a moment before finally relaxing. "Let's get in the truck. There's no need to wait here. Johnny will find us himself."

With that, she pulled Fenris toward the trailer first, while Wanda unknowingly fell behind.

She looked deeply at the sky. Thinking of the way Fenris had stared so fixedly just now, she lightly pressed her lips together, no one knowing what she was thinking.

"Stop right there!"

Just as the three of them were about to enter the truck, a loud shout suddenly came from several hundred meters away.

There was a faint panting in the voice. As that urgent shout fell, Fenris's ear twitched, and he suddenly turned to look toward the person approaching.

After sprinting at full speed for such a long distance in one breath, Thor was panting slightly. He began to miss Mjolnir more and more.

When he had his hammer, he only needed to whirl it around, and this little distance would have taken him only a few seconds...

Thor unconsciously made the motion of spinning his hammer. When he realized there was nothing in his empty palm, the smile that had begun to spread across his mouth instantly vanished.

Sensing that pure dark power drawing closer and seeing the enormous black silhouette of the heavy truck enter his sight, Thor's expression immediately grew grave. "What evil god are you?"

Soon, Thor stopped several dozen meters away from Fenris. Cautiously, he did not dare move any closer.

"An ordinary person?"

Wanda withdrew her gaze from Thor and turned to Fenris. "Evil god? Is he talking about us?"

"No."

Emma suddenly spoke from the side. "His mental defenses are strong. He isn't an ordinary person."

A powerful psychic wave reached out. Thor's mental strength was formidable, and for the moment, Emma could only vaguely sense his will.

"Fenris, the evil god he's talking about is you."
