Mia's Pov
"Sylvester is Edward?" I blurted out, staring straight at Rain. She ignored my question and moved towards Damien, making sure I could see the ring on her hand. That ring was the same ring Damien promised to give to me when he found out I was his mate, I was hurt.
I looked at the ring that was supposed to be mine with a sting in my heart. It belonged to Damien's mum, Lois, who I looked up to so much. She was so excited when she found out I was going to be her daughter in law, she showed me the ring and ever since then I had been so fascinated with it and now I already lost it before I could have it.
Rain seemed to notice my gaze n the ring and snickered. She left Damien's side and walked towards me pompously. She circled me with her hand placed gently on my shoulder before stopping at my front and cupping my face in her hand.
"Damien and I are getting married" she said in my face with a huge smirk on her face. I was riled up, and my wolf was too. She finally got what she wanted with me out of the way. I looked over at Damien. His face was turned away from me, but I could clearly feel his anger from here.
"The wedding would take place soon, come if you want" she said and turned her back to leave. She went to Damien and kissed him in front of me, Damien kissed her back effortlessly, and I could feel anger surging through me, I was in pain. I winced out loud to express my frustration, but that only made Rain laugh and leave with Damien.
I was pained, angry, and disappointed all at the same time. Hadn't he hurt me enough? Now he was getting married to his cousin who hated me and my family so much and wanted us out of his life.
I grunted in frustration and was escorted back to my room by the two guards. I sat on my small bed and thought about what to do about Sylvester. He was the late alpha's brother, and who would believe me? The daughter of traitors over him? I needed a strategy, and most importantly, I needed to leave this room.
I heard a soft knock on my door. The knock went on for a while, and I wondered if the person didn't already know they could enter my room however they liked. I didn't have the key. Only the guards guarding my room did. The knock stopped, and then, two minutes later, I heard key rustling. The door opened, and I saw it was Miley. I stood up and jumped around screaming, I had missed her so much.
"I missed you Mia" she said "I missed you too," I replied", we hugged for a while before we stopped and just sat in silence.
"Damien is getting married to Rain" I said, breaking the silence.
"That bitch, so that is what all the preparations are for, Damien has really changed" she replied and I nodded in agreement.
"Oh and I visited my parents" I said in a low voice.
"I knew she always wanted to be with Damien, has she no shame, wanting to get married to your own cousin, and so what if you were adopted, you are still related" she said rambling on and I figured she didn't hear me.
"I said I visited my parents" I said with a louder voice. This time, she stopped talking and looked at me with a worried look. She held my hands and looked me in my eyes.
"Are you okay?" she asked, and I nodded. She pulled me in for a hug, and I just sobbed quietly. I thought I could handle everything, I thought I could be strong, but it was just getting too much, I just want it all to end, I need it to end.
"I am tired, Miley. I need everything to be over"
"We would find out the truth, and I would make sure Damien doesn't get married to that rodent" she said reassuringly and held me tighter.
"Sylvester" I said, breaking the hug. She looked at me confused, and I smiled.
"Sylvester?" she repeated.
"Sylvester has your parents and framed mine" I completed.
"Who is Sylvester?" she asked, confused.
"Rain's dad" I said, and her eyes widened. She moved closer to me.
"How do you know this? You know you can't be making accusations like this" she said in a now low voice.
"My parents told me, and I believe them" I said.
"If he is the Sylvester, it would be really hard to pin him for it, he is the brother of the late Alpha for God's sake and now his daughter is getting married to the Alpha" she expressed her worry and I nodded in agreement.
"That is why we need proof. Miley and I know just where to find it"
"Where would you find proof from Mia?" she asked worriedly.
"We need to find your parents" I said, and she looked even more worried.
"How do we even go about that? With you locked in this room and us not even knowing where to start?" she asked again, and I smiled.
"I have a plan" I said mindlessly, knowing fully well I had no plan, yet, but it was good enough and something to hold on to.
"Are you sure?" she asked, unsure, and I nodded in agreement. Soon, the guards barged in and told Miley her time was up, and she left, leaving me all alone to my own thought.
I need a really good plan to get out of here and find her parents. The only way I can leave this room without a guard is to speak to Damien alone or if I let the wedding happen and find my way from there. The chances of me meeting Damien alone were near to zero, so I needed to let the wedding happen.
