Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

In the Synx realm, there were five kingdoms: Rostra, Vendet, Delsgade, Aquira and Geomi.

Each kingdom represented different elements.

Rostra was a kingdom of fire and heat. Vendet was of Iron and war

Aquira was of water and all its constituents.

Geomi was of air and all it contained.

Delsgade was a kingdom of fertility and prosperity.

All the kingdoms were headed by their respective royal families who often arranged meetings to keep their relationships cordial, forming agreements to not interfere in each other's kingdom affairs.

And so, the people of each kingdom flourished and delighted in their good fortune.

...

Sitting in the dimmly lit throne room of Delsgade was a grey-eyed man. He stared into nothingness, forgetting the presence of the subject that's stood before him.

"My Lord" the man said for the umpteenth time.

The grey-eyed man snapped out of his reverie and directed his attention to the subject before him.

"My Lord, the lands beyond the third wall are being ravaged by beasts day and night, and the farmers have all fled, fearing for their lives. May we be granted some soldiers from your royal military to help the poor farmers?"

With a wave of his Lord's hand, the subject understood that his request has been accepted and he bowed and left.

The King stood up to stretch and decided to retire for the day to his chambers.

It was only still morning, but he felt a heaviness in his chest and didn't want to be away from his chambers any longer.

The King walked to his room with two armed guards who followed him from the throne room.

On reaching his room, the guards bowed and turned around, taking their positions at the door.

In the room, a woman with auburn hair sat before a mirror, brushing away tangles and braiding her hair.

The King stood by the door way, admiring the lady before him.

She wore a green dress that heavily complimented her hair and eye colors.

She smiled while looking in the mirror, and whispered, "perfect".

Her eyes caught another reflection in the mirror and she stood up hurriedly.

"My Lord! Did you forget something?"

"No my heart, I didn't. I would prefer to rest for today".

"Are you feeling unwell?"

"Something of that sort, but nothing serious"

"If you say s-"

He interrupted her talking with kisses on her lips.

Her smile widened as she embraced him, "is this the rest you said you needed?"

They both laughed and stayed in each other's embrace.

The ruler of Delsgade was King Thames IV alongside His wife, Queen Roberta.

They had four children which were all sons. This saddened Queen Roberta often as she had always wanted a daughter.

To the Queen, her children were all special. She had grown to be fine with having only sons.

Her husband often teased her with the sound of her cries years ago when she had her fourth son.

"They're my world, honey"

"Who, my sweet?"

"The children. They're my world", she smiled fondly.

"And what am I? Deer meat?" He asked with false jealousy.

"You, my darling, are my everything" she said after laughing at his expression.

"As you are mine, sweetness"

The atmosphere was intimate and calm. One that they both never wanted to leave.

They stared outside the large windows as the breeze blew, causing the trees to dance in all directions.

Delsgade was a kingdom of calmness. Even the storms were not strong enough to damage the crops or fall houses.

King Thames IV had become the ruler of Delsgade at only seventeen years of age, shortly after his entire family was wiped out by an unknown disease.

By the time he had contacted said disease, an antidote was developed. Sadly, it was too late for the rest of his family.

Shortly after becoming king, Thames IV invested most of the kingdoms resources in illness prevention and treatment and as such, the people of Delsgade hardly ever fell sick.

King Thames IV had four sons: Layel, Jihan, Zichen and Roshan.

Roshan, the last of the four, was a special child.

Unlike his brown-haired and black-eyed father and siblings, he was born with platinum hair and grey eyes

On the day of his birth, his mother was troubled on seeing the color of her baby's hair and eyes

Legends had been told for decades of the platinum haired sorcerer with the ability to master all elements who would fight all five kingdoms if the need arose.

Queen Roberta hoped her baby didn't have such a tragic fate.

She desperately sought out a renowned priestess to peer into the boy's future and see if he would be safe from all harm.

After countless rituals, the priestess put the Queen's heart at ease with her positive response.

Although the boy was now eighteen years of age, sometimes Roberta couldn't help but worry for a future she did not know.

"Dear Aleeyae, Goddess of the kingdom of Delsgade, keep my boy safe and away from useless prophecies" she often prayed.

And as if ignoring her prayers, the story of the legend of the platinum haired sorcerer became more and more rampant as the days went by.

Whispers and rumors of the last son of King Thames IV being the reincarnation of the sorcerer spread throughout the capital city.

Queen Roberta sheltered Roshan unlike the rest. She was afraid to let him out of her sight.

Growing up, the other children felt jealousy towards their baby brother but quickly understood why he got extra attention and joined to shield him from the outside world.

At age fifteen, Roshan put his foot down and demanded to be allowed to step outside.

His demands were sensible and his parents had to understand that they couldn't shield him forever from a non-existent threat.

The boy needed to live and he couldn't do so by staying locked up and restricted.

It took some time, but the king and queen agreed and since then, Roshan's smile shone brighter than ever.
