Chapter 9 - Chapter 9- Navigator

After he returned to the boat, Tyler pulled a bucket of seawater and used it to take a bath.

Although it weakened him for a moment, it was exactly what he needed.

After taking a bath, he immediately went inside the room and took a nap.

He wasn't tired, but he was restless. He hated the smell of blood, and his perception of One Piece only made this worse.

There were too many tragedies in this world, but he couldn't save any of them.

Just the fact that pirates would attack civilians meant that at least one village was getting destroyed per day.

Just the fact that Celestial Dragon would launch Native Hunting Festivals every three years meant that a kingdom was being destroyed every three years.

He wasn't even counting the people he recognized from the story.

Just three days ago, he was a normal man in a normal world. Out of nowhere, he died and got transmigrated into this world.

Now, his hands were soaked in the blood of people.

He knew some of them deserved it while others didn't. The destruction caused on that island was his fault.

People of that island were full of smiles and pride for their Marine Branch, but he just went there to destroy it.

He didn't plan to do that, but things happened, and he couldn't forget it.

Especially after encountering this ship, those thoughts just kept coming back.

At this moment, he remembered a line from another world (Now that he is in One Piece, other fictional stories are worlds for him).

'You choose your burden and live with it.'

Now, he could only live with the burden that good people died in his hands. For him, it was no longer the battle between good and bad, justice and evil.

It was a battle between positions, sides.

He was a pirate. So, even if the Marines were good people, he had to kill them.

Of course, he knew not all Marines were good.

A bitter laughter escaped his lips while he was napping. But it quickly disappeared with snores as he fell into a deep sleep.

"Hey, why did he fall asleep?" Miya couldn't help but scratch her head when she entered the room.

She was holding a large bag full of berries, wanting to show off to her captain, but he was asleep.

"That battle must have taken a lot of toll on him." Frank also entered the room while holding another bag as he placed it on the side.

"Huh! Was he that tired? Didn't he get enough rest?" Miya asked.

Frank rolled his eyes.

'How can she be so clueless? Can't she see Tyler is uncomfortable with the smell of blood?'

He shook his head and said.

"Let's go out and make some food. Take the stove outside! When Captain wakes up, he needs a lot of food."

Miya paused for a moment as she remembered him talking about his weakness.

After leaving two more bags inside the room, they went out and started cooking. It was mainly Frank who cooked.

Since Miya considered herself a future Pirate Captain, she didn't learn to cook. And, she didn't need to.

She survived eating bread on the roadside, fruits that were half bad, and food that was thrown on garbage.

It was only after she heard the life of a pirate that she realized she could only fill her stomach if she became a pirate.

So, cooking was a foreign concept for her.

But for Frank, it was nothing new.

He was a man who had used his looks to get on the good side of rich ladies. And filling their stomach was one of the ways.

In fact, if he had not been spotted by a Celestial Dragon, he would've had affairs with the Queen of that Kingdom.

So, he immediately started cooking a lot of food. While cooking, they could also hear the screams.

That's right! Screams!

Since their Captain hated these people, Frank tied them to the ship's masts and burned them alongside the ship.

One of them was even awake during the entire process, so his screams were the loudest.

"Hey, Frank, you obviously have a lot of experience with ladies. So, why did you reject me last night?"

Miya sat next to him and asked.

Frank rolled his eyes and said.

"Can't you see that Captain was getting uncomfortable? Besides, just because I have experience with ladies doesn't mean I like sluts."

Miya clenched her fist and said.

"If you say that word again, I will crush your skull."

Frank became silent as he also realized that he had used the wrong word for a crew member.

This time, he didn't change the time; instead, he apologized.

"I'm sorry! I shouldn't have called you that. I hope you remember this is not your crew anymore, and you don't have to live like before."

"Obviously, you have been like that for quite a while, so it has become a part of your life. But you should be more reserve in this ship."

"You are now Navigator and the first person to join this crew. Your behavior, actions, and decisions will affect the future crewmates."

"Captain might have a powerful Devil Fruit, but he is just a teenage boy. You need to understand that."

Miya was getting irritated by his lectures, but deep down, she knew he was speaking for her.

She truly couldn't act as she did on her ship.

"You are right. But, don't think you can boss me around. You and I joined at the same time. I can also become the Vice Captain."

"Tch! Who cares?"

Frank clicked his tongue as he replied.

Miya paused for a moment before asking.

"Hey Frank, do you want to have sex now?"

Frank almost fell headfirst before asking.

"Are you crazy? Can't you see I am cooking here?"

"Come on! It's just a quick sex. I am quite thirsty right now."

"You are crazy."

"Humph! Don't regret it later!"

"I had sex with twenty women more beautiful than you. I will never regret."

"Humph!"

Miya couldn't help but feel displeased. But she didn't let her feelings get control of her.

If she did that, she would simply force him down and have sex with him.

That's what she used to do on her ship. But this wasn't her ship. She couldn't get angry either. She puffed out her cheeks and did nothing.

Frank shook his head upon seeing her mood.

Despite her age, Miya was more straightforward and innocent than Tyler. She wasn't a good person, but he didn't consider her a bad person.

When they were in prison, they talked to each other about their past. Not much, but enough to give each other some understanding of their past.

So, he understood that despite all the pain and suffering she went through, Miya was single-minded on one thing and one thing alone.

Being a Pirate Captain!

She lost that title because of him. Of course, it was also due to her own decision to capture him.

But it did form a small grudge between them. From Frank's perspective, Miya was too overbearing and idiotic.

From Miya's perspective, it was all Frank's fault that she was no longer the Pirate Captain.

She was completely forgetting the fact that she drooled over Frank's appearance and forced her crew to chase after him.

Even though her crew tried to remind her about Marines chasing after Frank.

While both of them blamed each other, they kept it in their hearts. Miya quickly got bored with the silence and started playing with the chains.

She started target practice even though she was exceptionally good at it. Seeing this, Frank took out a pistol and said.

"Hey, try this!"

Miya was confused until she saw a pistol coming her way. She caught the pistol and made a snarly remark.

"Heh! You want me to play with these toys. They don't make my blood boil. They don't have the true domineering power that these chains have."

"Sometimes it's not bad to learn a few different things. Your control over chains is exceptional. Try to use that control on this pistol."

"If you become a good sniper, you can ask Captain to buy you Seastone bullets. Then, you wouldn't need to worry about Devil Fruit users."

"Of course, chains are also good, but a pistol is good at sniping."

"Humph! I will try."

Miya snorted. She wanted to ignore his words, but they did make sense. She was a Navigator, but she was also a fighter.

Having a powerful sniping skill wouldn't be bad.

So, without further ado, she started training with the pistol. She would throw some plates into the air and shoot them.

The faster she shot, the better the results.

As she practiced her shooting skill, Frank couldn't help but frown.

'She already has such a good aim and also has decent strength. But what about me? What can I possibly contribute to this crew except cooking?'
